Final

Miss. State 87
Southern Miss 64

- Favour Nwaedozi 21 points, 23 rebounds (double double)
- Chandler Prater 18 points, 10 rebounds, 2 steals (double double)
- Destiney Mcphaul 14 points, 4 assists...only 1 turnover (even though she plays a lot off the ball.. key playmaker as well)
- Trayanna Crisp played really well..good game for Crisp. Need her continuing to step up. She had a few turnovers but at the same time executed, made plays out there, made some big shots.

Another good defensive effort for Miss State with Southern Miss knocking down 12..3 pointers to help them stay as close as they were. Offense played well for about 3 and a half quarters of this game.
Chandler Prater with another double double.
Favour Nwaedozi with a huge game but nothing new to her..check out her numbers from Japan.
(Note) Faith Wylder came off the bench in place of K. Richardson who was out for the game and played well during her minutes. My opinion she made a statement in this game...moved past some players on the depth chart.

Purcell has stepped up big time. His offense and defense has been solid!

I liked the minutes Faith Wylder gave also. She is 6'6"... we can use that size especially come SEC play. I hope Sam gets her more involved these last few non conference games

Miss. State has 2 key players with injuries in Saniyah King and Karyssa Richardson. Appears King will be out for an extended time frame having reinjured her ankle. Richardson's situation has been indicated as a knee tweak type situation and day to day. Would possibly sit Richardson until atleast after the break to rest that knee. Don't need her for Alabama State. If she is indeed a no go expect to see more of Faith Wylder coming in resting up Favour Nwaedozi. Been impressed by Wylder, I knew she was a good pickup. Also, she was listed as the sleeper out of the state of New York coming out of high school. Listed her as an athletic rim protector with a developing offensive game.

Tough to see King hurt again. Luckily Crisp has been playing well at the PG spot for us and Destiny Mcphaul can also play point. Awa Fane was used a little there as well so we will be ok until King gets back. If Richardson misses another game or two Sam needs to get Wylder alot of playing time behind Favour Nwaedozi.. I like what I saw from her and she needs the reps. We have Alabama State next and should win that easily, Id love to see her get some significant minutes in that game. You cant teach 6'6 and she moves well
