Miss. State women's basketball freshman Madison Francis has moved up to #1 in the nation (ncaa d1 women's basketball) in total blocked shots and #2 nationally in blocked shots per game. This includes #1 in the SEC. She's literally been throwing quite a few of these shots out towards the stands. I remember coach Purcell indicating before the season that she was way the best shot blocker that he has ever coached and that she had blocked a tremendous amount of shots during summer workouts.
My opinion she's a top candidate for National Freshman Of The Year as well as other awards. Also a lot depends on how well Miss. State does as a team. At this point her main competition for SEC and National Freshman Of The Year is coming from a guard named Aaliyah Chavez from Oklahoma, Jazzy Davidson USC, Zakiyah Johnson and Grace Knox LSU...few others.
