How good would we have been 2023, 2024, 2025.

Negative view of this is this is probably what should have happened 3 years ago. Positive view of this is that we're mature enough to admit our mistakes and not willing to let past trauma define who we are today or some weird psychology bullshit.

2023 - Will Rogers has a very Blake Shapen 2025 style year. I think we go bowl eligible and win the Egg.
2024 - Will Rogers likely stays and we don't get Shapen. This would have been a very interesting year.
2025 - Diff QB out of the portal (do we make a move for Chambliss? he'd have been in open competition in a similar offense to OM here rather than entering as backup to Simmons there)

Regardless of the hypotheticals - yea we're three years late - but better late than never. Crush the portal and build around KT.

What if we'd hired Curt Cignetti in December 2022? Probably at least 1 CFP appearance by now, maybe 2.

Hiring him doesn't give us Mark Cuban's money to do NIL with. That's something no one brings up about Indiana making a shift. After he sold the Mavericks he got roped into college football donating.

Wait! You just gave me a great idea! Have Lebby go on Shark Tank and get a Shark to invest in his great idea of how to win at football!

Unfortunately, we can't change what happened. And what DID happen has to be accounted for. And this is unfortunately yet another divisive decision that is completely unnecessary by MSU.

We didn?t have an AD in 2022 so that is kind of a pass but there is no excuse for Selmon not hiring him in 2023. He was available and not hired by Indiana when Selmon was searching. My parents know some of the Cignetti family and they got confirmation for me Selmon never interviewed or considered him. When you are the AD it is your job to hire the best candidate that is out there who would realistically take the job. Cignetti checked all those boxes and Selmon didn?t even attempt to interview him. That is just poor and lazy searching, especially when you have someone that good out there at a mid major hungry for a P2 job

This is what 99% of our folks just can’t comprehend. And we are still trying to dig out of this hole.

You realize his team this year has a composite ranking of 72 right? These players were not some big studs that mark cubans money brought in. This is a coach that has done an amazing job with 2 and 3 star players and has them competing at the top of college football and our AD completely didn?t even consider him

Uh yeah, we have to spend accordingly to compete. We are woefully under talented across the board.
