God almighty. We have Hubbard and Epps out there, and jones and walker wanna play one on one. Sit both of them, and chew our guards out for not going and getting the ball

Few thoughts:
Best energy we?ve had all year. Officials letting them play. GT sucks. Jans has taken a couple of guys out of the rotation and that has helped.
I'm watching. Achor shooting too many 3s.
He came in with the reputation of being a good three point shooter. Heck, he played for Bucky Ball McMillan at Samford.
Someone needs to work on that shot release though. I?m not convinced we have a shot doctor on the staff though.

We look better on the defensive end, especially our rotation out of the double team. Rebounding is good so far too

Yeah, I remember him in that tourney run. When we 3-4 and he's shooting 15% from 3, I want him to chill

Do we even have an offensive system?

Fleming will be a force at some point. He has all the tools you want a big to have.. He and Brandon Walker are actually the best two post options we have as of now. They both should continue getting the majority of the minutes at the 4 and 5. I know Walker can do too much at times but Ill take what Ive seen out of them 2 over what Ballard and Achor have shown us.

Walker and Davis-Fleming having good games so far is the big difference. I?m surprised we haven?t seen Ali yet. We desperately need to win this game

Has Jans EVER designed a successful play on the last possession of the half? I cannot remember 1. Maybe with 24.5 seconds, just go immediately into scoring mode. Even if you miss you may get the offensive rebound or put back. Whatever he draws up for the final play never works! And we all know having a Big bank a 3 pointer for the win last week was not the play drawn up!

12-03-2025, 10:19 PM
We need to come out in the second and attack the basket, and avoid the patented 5-7 minute scoreless run that Jans? teams seem to always possess. Of course, we need Hubb & Epps to heat up.

Man, if we had a good option for that spot, this team's outlook would be so much better. Maybe 11 will be that guy

Elephant in the room. Josh Hubbard is a great player, but Josh Hubbard's lack of size and point guard skills makes him a very difficult player to build around.

You go get a big guard to pare him with. Instead we sign Clary last year and Epps this year. Puzzling. And definitely should have signed a 3 and D small forward.

Hubs main strenght is that he is a 90+% FT shooter and he needs to lay off the 3s and go for the old fashion 3s. Which ne is deadly at

I like what I?m seeing tonight. The transfers have figured out it is still Josh?s team but he will feed them and let them eat if they work hard to get open or get to the goal!

We need to invite Lawrence Roberts and Mario Austin back to Starkville to teach our bigs how to post up?..spread out, wide base, and demand the ball. Ballard plays straight up, never bends his knees! It?s a head scratcher how we coach our bigs in my opinion.

Not bad, but he missed a few gimmes tonight in the post with his shoulders square to the basket. This game keeps my interest, and by far the best effort I?ve seen this year on both ends of the court. Little ?maroon & white? chant, I like it.

Best win so far which really isnt saying much but I feel like we found a solid rotation with this group Jans played tonight. We still have Utah, San Francisco and Memphis left to play in non conference so we still have opportunities to get a couple more decent OOC wins before conference play starts. Those teams arent playing the greatest but we are where we are at this point and have to win games regardless.

I would hope we win the rest of our non conference considering they will all be quad 3 or quad 4 games. We got the tough part behind us but I?m just not convinced outside South Carolina, Ole Miss and maybe Mizzou and UGA at home that we will win very many

Early in the season, but have y'all noticed how well the players who left us through the portal are doing for their new teams? Heck, LSU is running their "O" through Nwoko and are undefeated with some good wins. Did they just outbid us for his services and see something in him we didn't see?
