If I were them, these would be my first 3 calls...

1. Kenny dillingham
2. Jake dickert
3. Glenn Schumann

Not sure they could pull dillingham, but he seems like a good guy in the NIL era.

Dickert has won 8 at wash st and Wake forest the last 2 years. That's really impressive.

Schumann is a cood, so I'd be a little hesitant here, but he's been with Saban and smart for years. Both think he's really good.

Golding...for continuity. We've seen how that goes.

They'll promote Golding.

Golding would be a big win for us imo. Continuity hires almost always fail

Dillingham will be a lifer at ASU. Golding will be their only hope and man its going to be a downgrade similar to Arnett.

Golding.

And we have a good chance to reclaim the state.

They want to keep Golding and that's going to complicate things for them. Cohen really stepped up taking Golesh which hurt Ole Miss worse than Sumrall because I think Golesh would have been fine with Golding.

So how would someone like Jed Fisch feel about keeping Golding around? Who knows? Most coaches that are experienced want their own guys or people they know.

The word on Twitter is that it will be Golding, which all of sudden they say he is the one who has been doing all the work and Kiffen was just skating by. Funny how all of a sudden their narrative changed…

I think they're a lot smarter than that. They will be looking for a splash hire and don't think they haven't been busy with the search already.

Honestly they need to be patient and let the dust settle. Would love for them to panic promote Golding. I would really like to see them be bad at offense for a change

It appears to me as if everyone was trying to have their cake and eat it too. I think Ole Miss was legitimately thinking they would keep him and they didn't really prepare for the possibility that he might leave. And because of that they've lost out on a ton of the big names. I don't think Fisch would leave Washington. That's a really good job with a lot of resources unless he just wants to coach in the SEC for some reason.

I think the playoffs are complicating things because they have to play in that and they need to have a coach and who knows how naming someone other than Golding head coach would make things in the locker room? It could delay things further and winning actually might make it worse because it would just delay everything.

Carter looks like an amateur. Even Cohen realized that Dan wasn't coming back when he didn't sign the extension. You have to have some options to be prepared for the worst and Carter didn't do that.

What offensive coaches do they have to coach in the playoffs?

After watching this play, I do not. This is some dumb shit we would do.

Even if they do the top names are off the board and like I said they need to find someone that wants to keep Golding. That makes this really complicated. And Joe Judge isn't an option for them either now. In order to keep Golding they're going to have to either hire Golding as the head coach or hire someone with very little experience most likely. The other option is to be OK with hiring someone that won't keep Golding.

They'll promote someone to OC to hold some if they hire Golding

I don't know. It's not Judge for sure. If Kiffin keeps Wilson at LSU maybe their WR or RB coach? Grad student? Will Hall makes a cameo for them? Ole Miss fan calls plays on Madden?

Sec should absolutely have a no poaching policy among HC and players.

It will be interesting if it looks like Vandy will be left out but could get in if a coachless Ole Miss is left out. I think Sankey would quietly lobby for Vandy in that scenario.

That's exactly what Sankey should be doing. OM is done. Vandy can win a first round game.

And i think that they are way more objective than we are ... I believe they would come closer to hiring Dan than we would... and I wouldn't put it past Dan to take the job. Ok, I'm still a little pissed but they just seem to almost always out maneuver us when it comes to football
