Really pissed me off and this is an area that Lebby has to improve. Does anyone hold him accountable on this? After the big Bothwell run, I believe we could have let the clock run until the 2 minute warning but we went tempo and ran an extra play for 1 yard. Someone can check me on this but thats a huge mistake.

Kicking a FG and making OM burn timeouts is more valuable than scoring a TD and leaving them 1:50 and 3.

Especially with us receiving the ball to start the 2nd half. Its called the middle 8 and its extremely important. We could have won the middle 8 14-0 or 10-0 instead it ended up 14-6 OM.

Fluff was run OOB at the 2:32 mark which stops the clock until the ball is spotted and they set the chains- but the 40 second clock starts immediately. I cant attest to whether the 40 second clock was below the 32 mark after the play. We ran the ball for basically no gain and then went to the 2 min TO. Then we threw it twice incompete and had to kick the FG. But Mississippi had all 3 TO's left.

I dont see any mismanagement there- especially if the 40 was below the 32 mark when the ball was set. Had we run and then run again- then kicked the FG- Mississippi still had a TO left. They didnt hurry in their 2 min O- they let the clock run on purpose because they could. I dont think it mattered in the game either way. The problem was we couldnt stop them from throwing the FB

If we ran a play before the 2 minute warning when we didnt have to, thats a big, big mistake.

Lebby is horrible at clock management, that is obvious. It is as if he never even considers it.

There was 1 second between the play clock and 2:00 there, so yes, in that scenario we had to snap it. But a) why are we going hurry up there? Bothwell quickly ran back in and threw the ball to the ref near the spot or we could have run it all the way down, and b) if you wait and run the play with 2:02 on the clock, you are still going to run it down under the 2:00 before the clock stops. So you will still use more clock than we did. It is a pattern of just not caring about the clock when the clock absolutely matters in Ws and Ls.

Clark Lea was a master of game management today. I?m really impressed with him.

Because that is our philosophy and that is what he does everyday in practice. So basically yes- we had to run a play and we did and then it hit the 2 min warning. There was no clock mismanagement. Mississippi took their time to go score. It was a walk in the park for them. End of story

Now- if u want to talk the Texas game when we snapped the football at 20 seconds on the playclock up 17 points? You have a very valid point and Lebbo messed that up. He has to grow as a coach and realize there needs to be a philosophy change when up 17 in the 4th. There is philosophy and then there is smart football at a lower program playing against Giants

How? He went 0-8 in the SEC in Y3. I'm told that a good coach cant do that

I saw something that talked about Candy stepping up to being top 5 in the SEC in NIL. Said even Carol Swain was donating to NIL. That would explain alot as to why they are 10-2

Candy has a ton of things going for them.
