Does anyone not know why we don't recruit those jokers for dline? Like they literally weigh a tune and have great hands and are in great dlineish shape.

We already get guys from Australia for putting why can't we go a few miles north and grabs some sumos.

Because they will load up on boiled eggs and puke on the field.

According to AI and Reddit, they require different skill sets. On the surface, they look similar though. I've never seen a real sumo match but apparently they last at the extremes 4.5 minutes, so it's a lot of energy really quickly used up rather than over three to four hours. You only have one match a day.

If you think about it, the lateral quickness component makes sense too. In sumo, your opponent wants to push you just as much as you want to push them. In football, your opponent is trying to avoid you, typically.

Offense only. On defense they don't have the lateral quickness. I always joked though that having two fat 600+ guys clogging G/C and G/T would be ideal to attack with if they had the wingspan to get away with "engaging" both those players at once it can become 9 on 7 elsewhere. But defensive holding of offensive line is too commonly called nowadays so it's moot.

Tush push defense against my Sumopush offense though - sure.

I get the timeframe part. But it is said that there is only I believe like 9 minutes of actual football during a game. Most plays are less than 10 seconds long. Obviously they would have to get into football shape, that being said though. I don't think it would be that crazy of a transition. I could be wrong but man I just want some school to give it a try. I want to see it.
