View Full Version : Question: do we go back to no huddle next year?

I don't mean necessarily hurry up, just no huddle and 'check with me'.

I think it's a good move. The reason: The defense still does not have time to make substitutions because if the qb calls for the snap, illegal substitution.

I also think it's a good move because huddles tend to give coaches the thought they have more time than they actually do. I did not like how rushed we looked breaking the huddle this year.

I hope we do both. First, our defense needs to practice against it. Secondly, it makes us more efficient in the two minute drills. Third, it gives us a chance to snap the ball more when that favors us.

I don't want to use it all the time, but wouldn't mind using it against some teams.

I would certainly like to see some up-tempo in 2014

We did that well with Relf. We had a hurry up run first offense. In the last minute or so @ Auburn, we drove most of the field to the Auburn goal line using nothing but hurry up run plays.

By the time we got to the goal line, Auburn was running in slow motion. Then that damn backup LB upended Relf. Maybe Relf was gassed too.

I hope so. We were painfully slow getting off plays this year at times.

we can't has Dak too much, but they'd be dumb not to do it in spots.
