Meanwhile our rival has a D2 guy leading them to the playoffs, ha. The pain is real.

I'm convinced Kiffin could make me a Heisman contender

Chambliss is legit. If Simmons were their QB, they would not be headed for the playoff.

His running threat totally changes their offense.

I’m convinced it’s part of Shapen’s contract at this point. Like, he gets an extra $500k if they pull him.

You know full well that is not accurate. Like I said. You guys act like all things are equal with every team out there. It's simply not and it effects the over all performance and it would effect any QB behind our OL.

Man, man, man... advanced metrics are good until they say something you don't like.

An example. According to that, Chandler Morris is awesome. Buyt he's only been sacked 13 times in 325 attempts. Same thing with Cutter Boley. Guy has 8 INTs and 13 TD while being sacked only 18 times. But he's the bomb diggity??

PFF grades more than actual results. It grades whether you made the right decision. It weights plays according to pressure. It's a great metric imo. Now I'll be the first to question how accurate their college ratings are... I just don't see how they can watch every game for every player. What I don't like is using PFF when it says something good and discarding it when it says something bad. Either it has weight or it doesn't.

For me.. now this is my opinion.. Blake is not the worse of P4 QB. That's just easy for me to see. Eye test passed I guess. BUT.. with our O Line and circumstances and with his inability to feel/elude pressure... he has been pretty bad. It is not all his fault tho, but he also has some fault. We have definitely had worse QB's to play the game at our university.

I don?t think it?s Shapen?s fault at all. It all starts with the OL. If you was to put Shapen behind a good OL his numbers would be off the charts.

FWIW.... Lebby said today in his press conference that Shapen would start in the Egg Bowl if fully healthy. I don't know where the fully healthy comes from. I don't remember him getting hurt against Mizz.

PFF and QBR agree that Shapen is one of worst P4 QBs. That seems to be a hard fact to gloss over.

I'm not disagreeing with you.. the stats are there. I'm just saying I think he is probably a better qb than what the stats show. Definitely hard to argue with your point. Im with you when you say you can use them for one point and not for another

He’s definitely better than stats show, unfortunately he’s a pocket passer behind the worst OL unit I have ever watched.I get everyone calling for KT bc a mobile guy behind this atrocious line would give us a better chance to win but Shapens confidence from game 1 this year to now looks shot. I think you ran that risk with KT handing the reigns off any earlier than now. All for him to start in the Egg bc what do you have to lose.

And I have seen some say since Shapen is a senior he should be able to finish it out. I hear those folks, I really do but this isnt high school. Youre paid to compete and sometimes in life you dont got it or the cards are against you so Lebby as the leader needs to make that change.

Great post bro. Spot on. I actually made a post a few days ago that Shapen is cooked for the Egg Bowl simply because his confidence is gone. It has to be. And that in itself effects playing ability tremendously. I've been one of those guys saying to give KT a shot because he can has the ability to make a negative play turn into a positive and with the O Line we have, I think its essential. I dont think Shapen really has that ability. I understand he is a freshman and may not know the ins and outs of the offense, he will make bad decisions, bad reads, etc.. but Shapen has been a turnover machine this year. What could you possibly lose at this point? We know all this point Shapen isn't the guy with this O Line. Maybe, MAYBE, KT can produce some more positive plays and keep the defense on the sideline.

Lol man we all see things differently but want the same result in the end. I would be willing to bet we have a lot of things in common. I can be dumb and be hard headed sometimes.. which is obvious since I'm a State fan.

Nope-what it would do is make the good OL worse. No matter the OL -Shapen would still hold the ball too long, stare down Wrs, Run when he should have handed off to a rb. Why is it Kt makes our OL look better?

This. He is a 6th year player and is what he is. Past time to move on. JMO.

When the HC tells you Shapen is going to start- believe him.

Hopefully KT plays some meaningful plays in the game
