There has been a lot of criticism on posts made by several Elitedawgs regarding our home attendance at DWS this season. My family has been very fortunate to be able to attend for 58 consecutive years as season ticket holders. We go win, lose, or draw, and stay until the often bitter end.

I realize that some here may have issues with geography or financial reasons that prevent them from attending. Otherwise, I find it in poor taste to criticize those who make the sacrifice in time, money, and choice of spending their family's free time to be there in person.

Being a state fan is tough and rather than being referred to as the "Village People", "RTDF", "we hate NIL," etc. We need to support making state football competitive again anyway possible. Attacking other Elitedawgs on this or any other site with personal insults reminds me of some OM websites when things are going bad for them. This place is for facts, opinions, and even rumors. We all love State and are in this together. Winning solves everything! Do what you can and all you can for our success. Hail State! I'm through with my sermon, fire away.

Agree. And I've been to nearly all this year and the crowd has been bought in. You would never know we had a losing streak going. Students have showed out better than any time in my lifetime - they are rock stars. They did give up at 38-7 other day but hard to blame them in the hot sun watching the beat down. I found shade and watched KT show out till the end.

Anyone criticizing the crowd IMHO has no reason this year.

Hard to criticize the crowd when we went 2-10 last year and got blown out almost every game.
Keep winning and people will come.
50k plus is not horrible for the state of the program.

I don't think anyone is criticizing the fans that are there. People are discussing ways to get the fans that aren't there back. And it is a major issue this year. Tennessee, Texas, and Georgia filled up at least 1/3 of the stadium and that is maybe being optimistic with maroon glasses on.

And the only way I think MSU can potentially fix it is to do some things that are pretty drastic. I would strongly consider selling non season tickets the day before the game to try to discourage opposing fans and give MSU fans a shot to get tickets that want to buy them late. And yes, that might result in a half empty stadium but that's better than a stadium half full of opposing teams fans. I think MSU is going to have to do some things within the one hour radius of campus to get fans from that area to come. Also, I would sell tickets as cheaply as I could- I'm talking high school football prices. And I'm sure we'll still have fans complaining about ticket prices and how much the food costs and how you can't get off campus in 3 minutes.

I agree with this and like you said, I think we're going to have to do some pretty drastic stuff. I just don't know what those things are. Because giving tickets away to people could result in them turning right around and selling the tickets on the open market, which puts them right back in visiting fans' hands.

There?s been discussions about what to do with the east upper deck. They tossed around the idea of doing another set of trailer parks but the investment is high. A party deck was also talked about but also requires a structural investment. I think the plan will be to do a ?family plan? that?ll include 4 season tickets, free popcorn, fountain drinks and hotdogs - possibly other concessions too, at a lower cost than season tickets in the past. Basically a matinee movie type of idea.
