He been riding the pine at LSU even though Nuss is what many of us knew he was - badly overrated.

Would he be the starter here today? Would he have been evough to elevate pressure off our oline? I sure wonder...

He would be the backup.

He would be the back up, KT would have not seen the field this year, and with our luck, Kromenhoek would have been starting somewhere else for a winning team!

Most likely the backup to Blake. I think we might be better if Blake had moved on and we went with a more dynamic QB. That didn’t happen though

No way in this world is he still the backup today

The backup quarterback will always make us a better team.

MVB threw a nice deep ball, but otherwise was a pretty underwhelming passer. He'd be QB2 if he were still here.

Levee is so invested in Shapen, that MVB would have been a back up.

What did he do?

demanded a certain price or else. He won't start next year if he is still in baton rouge either. bet the new crew brings in portal QB's and pass him up which mean a decrease in his cash flow

Not once last year did MVB prove that he should have been the starting QB this year. Had he had an amazing year and won a couple of games by putting the team on his back and making some insane passes or QB scrambles for touchdowns then the argument would have been there. It wasn?t. He couldn?t even beat out Nuss at LSU. I guess Kelly was just too invested in Nuss, huh?

Yes Kelly was. 100%. Kelly is so arrogant he in no way thought LSU would fire him this year.

MVB was a typical talented true freshman QB getting alot of playing time in the SEC. Looks good in flashes/lots of mistakes/around 50% completion percentage due to not being able to read defenses fast enough or comfortable making all the throws yet. MVB is probably alot better than he was at this time last year

and he won't play at LSU once a new HC is hired.

you'd probably be surprised about how players do that especially when they have other offers, i don'y blame them.

exactly- acting like MVB was some random asshole is crazy. Every team has those guys now. People somehow shut up when LSU grabbed him right up after we declined to pay him.

And for those saying he wont be the QB at LSU next year? Depends on who they hire as HC. Not to mention other coaches trying to get him for their offense.

I don't blame MVP at all for transferring last year. As die hard of a State fan as I am, if someone offered me 1 mill to come play at LSU after the season we had last year then I am saying yes in a hurry. He got killed due to our O line last year. I think he will be back in the portal at the end of this season. Vandy bound??

He will be top in Heisman voting and we will all go WTF.

That didn't bother me. He did demand sec starter money. But we weren't giving it to a guy that was a team cancer and couldn't even stay awake in qb meetings when he was starting. Just a douche. Someone else's problem.

I mean, I wouldn’t pay that kind of money for that either if that was really going on. He was also a dumb 18 YO. He will live and learn.

Honestly, if MVB had stayed I think KT would have eventually passed him up. MVB is ahead of him in development right now but it's only a matter of time before KT leaps him. To me, it was inevitable that MVB was going to transfer at some point.

I'm pretty sure he holds the SEC record for delay of game penalties. That used to drive me nuts about him. That's junior high quarterbacking 101- find the playclock in the stadium.

Not this year. MVB was/is a baller

If MVB was here Lebby would have a problem because the players would want him to start over Shapen and rightfully so imo. For a young head coach it could be a killer. The losses are difficult enough to keep motivating guys to listen to coach speak and fighting.
