That was the end of the Mississippi State Football program.

Oddly enough, it reminds me somewhat of late Bellard period. You could tell were done offensively and would have to hang on. But you inew there was too much time left.

The end of Bellard as I?ve witnessed before was in the EB he would drive the field and then shut down going conservative settling for a FG or FG attempt instead of going for a TD....It happened in the Fourcade/ Dick Pace debacle and the wind blown episode....If anyone complains about DM going for it against LSU or Lebby against Fla......I point to YEARS of conservative offensive play calling ....lost MANY more games than trying to win ......

17-13 loss to KY in Starkville comes to mind also. That was '85 I think.
