Look like a total freak show to me in the few highlights available. Probably ends up a Matt Wells type of hybrid LB...

No doubt, he's got LB written all over him!

I very rarely comment on recruiting but damn this guy looks like he has all the tools...

Our staff offers a kid without any other offers or much of a recruiting profile really early in the process?

Yes, please. These are the kids that seem to end up being huge studs down the line. Our 2015 class is going to be ridiculous.

dude, that is a BIG safety. He will put on a lot of weight with that frame and could be a beast of a LBer with that speed, maybe even a rush DE. These are the guys you recruit, good at their position with the frame to move down. This is a bama type recruit. Great speed at their position to start with with the frame to keep the speed and move down the defense. That's how you develop big linebackers that run like deers, and De's you can't run around the end on.

A guy that has prototype LB size with S speed that can cover but is big/physical enough to put his hand on the ground in some looks?

I'm holding to my theory that these hybrid players are what's going to defeat the hurry-up fad longterm. Essentially, you are confusing an offense that bases it's whole premise on confusing defenses and getting match-ups that are exploitable. Multiple look defenses with hybrid players that essentially play 2-3 different positions make the strength of the hurry up it's potential weakness.

6 commits for next year already. Wow I like this

Most likely bump up to #5 if this guy is rated somewhere between 88 and 91. With the limited sample of highlights available, I would be shocked if he isn't a 4*...

Very impressive.

As a former DC, I am foaming over this kid! Kid played CB, WLB, SLB, and pass rushing DE....and excelled. Nose for ball, explodes through hips, and great field closing speed. Love it.

Super impressed with this guy. It's amazing how our coaches find guys like this.

Apparently visited for the Bama game and fell in love with the place...

Thanks for the link. Do you happen to know if we are after the other two linebackers discussed in the article?

Just read the article linked. Wow! 6'3 225 safety?!?! Talk about bringing the lumber. Kid is gonna blow up if goes to camps. I hope he goes nowhere else this summer.

Here are the other 2 guys. Both appear to be pretty damn good -- particularly Hendrix. Seem to all be very well-coached.

pretty sure i remember hearing a few years ago that bill belichik was telling CFB coaches that the easiest path for guys to make it to the NFL was to be hybrid LB/S types that can play tough against the run but have the speed to get out in coverage and play all 3 downs, and that the NFL was struggling to find these kinds of players to counter the spread style offenses.

Really like this kid. Obviously a great athlete because he plays anywhere from DE, LB to Safety.

Hopefully we can hold on to him for the long run because I would be shocked if he didn't blow up.

Yeah -- I kinda doubt we get that one looking at the ridiculous early offer sheet.

Basically guarantees that McNair doesn't go under-the-radar of those other programs either...

He is another guy that claims his word is solid. Only time will tell...

The only other schools has been Louisville and North Carolina State. They've both been after me. But,to tell you the truth, this is the best decision for me. When I make my mind up I'm done. I'm a man of my word.
