If seen: show it to Lebby so we can excuse why we've thrown away two games. I know I know this was a 22 point loss. Anyone who watched knows it was a game begging for one of the teams to take over much like '18 Kentucky. They did and we didn't. Cause we came out of half getting a stop. Running fluff up the middle twice. Slow meshing. Running fluff up the middle again. And then never doing it again the rest of the game.
This OL sucks at a lot of things. But they can downhill run block and push. In a 3-0 game we should have leaned into the Iowa strategy and just pounded it until they wilted and played field position with the weapon of a punter we have.
But instead we wanted to be "steps ahead". Every play we didn't run it between the tackles was a win for A&M.

I think the problem with our offense besides the obvious- the offensive line- is right now we aren't dynamic enough.
Priority one is getting Reese back and healthy and getting our offensive line set.
Now, the dynamic part. We were becoming basically an offense that relied too much on Fluff, Thompson, and Evans. In other words we were too much like the old Pittsburgh Steelers of the 1970's but out of modern formations- run and throw deep. That's not going to work and not how this offense was designed to work.
We need to run more slants and hitches and add that to what we are doing. When we actually did that, we scored a TD.
The short intermediate game will force teams to play zone and pull defenders out of the box. That will make it easier to run the ball and it will mean fewer guys attacking our offensive line which will buy Shapen time and allow him to throw the ball down the field. And the quick passing game will help our offensive line. And we also need to throw more screens to our WR's as well.
If I were in Lebby's shoes, that is what the emphasis would be. We have to continue to get Ayden Williams involved and I thought he had his best game tonight. I hope he has a big second half. We need to get Traore involved more in the passing game. We have seen what he can do and he has done it against SEC competition. And then we really need another WR to step up like SanFrisco or Ricky Johnson.
We tried to run the ball- we couldn't. We averaged only 2.5 YPC. On the other hand I think we were like 15/20 passing the ball.
It will be interesting to see but with Fluff out and a hopefully soon to be healthy offensive line I think we will see a different offense that relies a little less on the run. Because even with Reese they're only going to improve so much.
