We have to stop bullshitting around in the offseason and build a complete team. That's what REAL programs do anyway. Not overspend on running backs and hoping that an offensive guru coach and outscheme everyone else in the SEC.

Not sure about that but without injuries, we are 5-1.

We were no where close to winning that game last night, so not sure I agree. We probably win tenn with a better oline.

Actually, the first quarter last night was good on offense, had a chance to be up 14 points but offensive penalty on goal line and RB stumbling after breaking up the middle. Defensively we played pretty good for 3 quarters but ran out of gas. But offensively we need a lot of help moving forward. With 44 portals and 22 freshmen on this team, it's going take about the same next year.

I like Lebby, he is young and will get better in if given time.

Oline is an issue. But it's not the only issue.

We spent on the OL. I get the line hasn't been good. But we spent money there.

I'd say 5-1 if we had two more solid players on O line. Last night would have still been a loss probably but a really tight game. And we would be talking big bowl or even way too early playoff talk.

If you really believe that this coaching staff has been "bullshitting around in the offseason", then I really think you're beyond help.

Yes we were. We were an average OL from beating them. I agree with OP. We are atlest 5-1 if not 6-0 right now if we had any other OL in the conference.

Oline is an issue. But it's not the only issue.

It is by far the largest issue we have. By far.
These guys can't pick a simple stunt. I mean, they were like 10% last night in picking up stunts. if that. I would love to see the metrics on our stunt and blitz pick ups.
The only one I even remember was a throw Shapen made from our own goaline.

Plus injuries have really hurt this OLine.

If you believe that I was criticizing our coaches you have no clue.

I wrote up the thread on what we did running the ball. This game was there to be taken by whichever team adjusted and decided to dominate in 2nd half. We made it easy for them. 2018 Kentucky vibes.

Obviously didn?t spend enough on a LT. Then had to panic shop in the spring portal which is closed moving forward.

It?s really just 1 injury.

That is a huge loss. Also our secondary has been banged up.

I'm not going into specifics. But went spent a ton on a tackle.

Could we spend 30 million on a one season roster?

I don't think that's the question we should be asking. We are at 15 million now. The question should be can we spend 1-2 million more to buy a better offensive line.

That said IF we spent 30 million we would probably have enough to compete for a championship. Like a National Championship.

Bad eval then.

I wish I could trust our people but impossible to do so without the details.

Also, last nights starting Oline couldn?t have cost much at all: Boone, Work, Owens, Jackson and James.

We had an average OL until we went down 2 OT’s. Not enough money to spend on depth.

The not enough money part is interesting. Bc maybe we just spend it poorly. Maybe we don?t.

I personally don?t think we should be funding 105 scholarships if we are. And we should only be paying 55-60 players.

There are instances where we have to pay players more to come to State rather than other schools would. Also instances of players taking less to play at other places

We spent around 15MM I'm told- and that is bottom 1/4 of the SEC. Van Buren makes twice as much as Shapen does

That was a great decision letting him go.

Come one man, the only thing that kept us in the AM game was AM's ineptitude. Poorly coached team.
