The athletic mentions him as a possibility. Not sure what to think of that

He's not leaving Tennessee. His style won't work at the pro level and he also has no desire to coach in the MLB and has said that on multiple occasions. He loves the grind of college baseball and loves recruiting, whether that be the portal or HS.

As far as who they need to hire, I really don't know. Walt Weiss is going to be the big name mentioned. I also think they'll look at Skip Schumaker. I wish Wash was about 10 years younger and hadn't had the health scares or he would be the shoo in candidate.

I don't think it will be anyone on staff right now.

Anyone like Snit in the minors anywhere? Braves love in house guys.

Any chance Kevin Seitzer gets a look?

AA has lost the cushiness of his seat and knows that he can’t Braves up this hire. Weiss would be a terrible choice. There’s nobody in the organization that is worth it. They have done the current assistant and/or Braves lifer route since Bobby retired. It’s time for new blood to lead the team.

Vitello has been linked to the Giants job as well. I think it's a mistake by both parties but the reality is he has done everything he can at Tennessee and I'm not sure how much more commitment he is going to get out of them at this point. He can manage in pro baseball until Arkansas opens up.
