Our OOC opponents to me stack up the same. I asked ChatGPT to analyze this and they gave A$M the edge purely due to Notre Dame. I think the Sun devils would take them on a wild ride.

Nothing of what A$M has done to any of their opponents make me go "gosh. Dang. Crap" they have beaten the people they were supposed to. Honestly I am really unempressed with how they played Auburn. I don't know how Auburn has scored the points they have this year. That game should have been 38-10. I feel like everything we hear about A$M is just regurgitated year over year. They will always be easy until they aren't.

State has as impressive of a resume as they do. Both sides of the ball looks as good or better to be honest as they do. I just don't see any reason why we cannot go in there and win.

I actually am a believer that A&M will not be their usual 8-4 this year unless we pull the upset Saturday. Their issue has always been coaching and Mike Elko seems to be different from the "flashy" coaches they have got in the past. I expect them to go 10-2 this year with losses @ Missouri and @ Texas. They play at LSU but LSU is the product of a high preseason ranking and I think aTm is a much better team.

They're bottom half of the SEC in both passing and rush defense. Therefore, we can likely be balanced and will be Ok. They're good at sacking people but don't have a ton of turnovers.

I suspect that is more about Auburn being bad on offense. Auburn is not in the top 10 in scoring offense, total offense, passing and rushing.

It's 100% Auburn just being bad offensively. Auburn has completely abandoned the Hugh Freeze offense. And I suspect it's because he, once again, doesn't have the QB to run it. They don't look like they have a clue what is going on offensively at the moment. Durkin and their D are keeping them in games right now.

freeze made the mistake of getting Jackson Arnold. The Okiies were glad to be rid of him. He is a slower version of Tyler Russell.

Arnold cannot run that offense, and Freeze knew that, because that offense makes the QB make a ton of reads pre snap and Arnold is not used to that. The only offense he can really run effectively is ours. They are now having to completely change everything about what they do. If he continues to struggle, Freeze will pull the plug and go to Deuce Knight.

It's hard to know what to expect when your defense gives up so many penalties. It's hard to know what to expect on any given Saturday in the SEC. It's so dependent on things that are hard to control like turnovers, referees, emotions, game plans, ... bounces and breaks. All I know is this team has surprised me and I've gone from doubtful to hopeful. Once again our fans want to resort to the poor miss st we just aint good enough boohoo attitude. I got a crazy prediction, ASU wins the big 12, TN finishes top 3 in the SEC, and we beat the aggies this weekend. We are good and 1-0 is the standard Lebby is expecting every week now.

The boosters run that place and have really since Jay Jacobs left. Jacobs always had them somewhat under control and they got rid of him so they could install Allen Greene, who they fired to get Cohen because he hired Harsin.

See above. Yes, I've never known of any school where boosters micromanaged things like they do at Auburn. Maybe it was better under Jacobs but that was an anomaly.

I think fans are close enough to the field. I sat on row 3 right behind the MSU bench in our 35-14 win there in 2017. We were right there. As for the environment, it's hard to put a finger on. Maybe whether it is intimidating or not isn't the right thing to wonder about. If I had to choose a way to put it, I would say this: It is just not that...hostile. Maybe it is for the Longhorns or others. Maybe they just think we are beneath their ire. Talk to any of them and they just can't believe that we have about the same record against them as some blueblood SEC teams since they've joined the conference. Tell them we're 5-5 in the last decade, and they just don't remember it that way. They won't call you a liar, they just don't remember it being like that. Aggies are weird. Passionate. Delusional. But not hostile.

Part of that is on Arnold and his camp too. QB is one position where the offense has to fit the QB's skill set. Like- you wouldn't ask Dan Marino to run the wishbone. But he would probably be pretty badass in the Air Raid. As Clint Eastwood said- a man has to know his limitations. Same with any QB.

It goes to show you how teams get so fixated on stars sometimes that they end up screwing themselves and the player over.

Thing is I doubt that Shapen stays if we get Arnold. I think we came out OK, but I also think that Arnold would have been better off coming to MSU because of the scheme fit.
