Lol, you serious? Dallas would've won game 1 vs Philly had his #1 WR not dropped 3 critical balls. Today, Dak was forced to checked down almost every play bc his (as usual) overrated as F OL couldn't pick up a blitz...which was happening almost every down, and yet the coaches never adjusted, lol. Seems suspect....
Dak threw 1 bad pass today, and that was on his last possession down 17. His other pick hit 3 in the hands and literally couldn't have been thrown better.
Its like we're not even watching the same games, lol.

Um have you checked out the Saints yet? Dallas lost Lamb. Now Dak can get some WRs who won't take plays off.

Dak like several other NFL QBs is a victim of his own financial success. He may be deferring a lot of his what, 60 million per year but along with Lamb, it is hard to win when 3 or 4 of your biggest names are getting the vast majority of the salary cap. Jerry needs a real GM. With his tight fists on the money he has left under the salary cap, he could have had Derrick Henry cheap. Dallas defense is pathetic. Dak should have taken less money and gone to a contender, but he may be making mega bucks in endorsement by being the face of the cowboys.

It's no accident that the GOAT routinely took under market deals for the benefit of the team

Drew always deferred alot of his salary to the end of his career so they could resign Colston and other players.

The GOATs spouse made a hell of a lot more money than GOAT? Money getting sheltered in South America and Costa Rica? Tom Craft getting stock options from Gisele B? Just something to ponder.

Dak made $2.7 million during the four years of his rookie contract while starting almost all of those four years. Y'all are some dumb m17ers to say he should have taken an under market deal.
And to say Dak doesn't look any better than the rest of the team means you don't watch the games or you don't know $hit about football.

Statistically- Dak was the best QB in the NFL in 2023 and led the NFL in passing TD's. He doesnt have the supporting cast at all. Their D is ****ing awful.
He needs to request a trade and go somewhere like Pittsburgh or Atlanta

And they're already 39 million over the cap for next season, which is 3rd worst. They have 22 million available for 2027, which is 2nd worst. Looking at the cap in just the current season gives you a very limited view.

Dak contract...
2026: 74M cap, 130M dead
2027: 68M cap, 59M dead
2028: 78M cap, 32M dead
He will almost certainly be restructured next season, so he isn't going anywhere for a while.

Until Jerry dies- they arent going to win anything. He didnt have the money to pay Parsons so he traded him for picks to get younger and cheaper. They need to trade some others for more picks and cap room. Trying to continually piecemeal a roster every year like they do will keep them in the 6-11 to 10-7 range for eternity. Trade Dak and suck for a couple of years. Load back up on young talent and stop overpaying players that arent worth it

Maybe. Last year in the playoffs, here's the cap hit for each in that season ...
Hurts 21.8M
Mahomes 37M
Allen 30M
Jackson 32M
Daniels 6.8M
Goff 27M
Stroud 8M
Darnold 5M
Mayfield 6.9M
Love 20.7M
Nix 3M
Wilson 1.2M
For reference, Dak's is 50M this season.
Really just the elite guys (mahomes, Jackson, and Allen) were over 30M. And that cap hit by mahomes started catching up last season in the form of no WRs. As hurts, Allen, Jackson, and goff start having big hits every season, their supporting cast will get weaker and weaker. The salary cap is a great way to level the playing field, and a big part of why the nfl is so great.

It's why a QB on a rookie scale contract is the most valuable commodity in the NFL. You're able to go all in everywhere else for a 4 year period.

Things didn't improve until Jerry traded a 1st for Amari...only to trade him for a 6th 3 years later....

Also, Jerry and co put waaaay too much stock in their draft evaluations. Taco Charlton, 1st rd DL cut a couple years later. Mazi Smith, 1st rd DL, hasn't player this year, definitely a future cut. Vander Esch, 1st rd LB, played OK, but injury prone, now retired. Last year traded a 4th (!!!) for Mingo, who was about to be cut by Carolina, bc "they graded him high coming out of OM", and hasn't played meaningful snaps. Lastly, Parsons, 1st rd LB/DE that was clearly an impact player, but didn't extend him early (where they could've saved possibly 10+ mil annually), only to trade him for 2 1st rd picks that will likely be in the 20s. And now a lack of a pass rusher is killing this D. Hmm....
Also didn't extend CeeDee earlier.
Also didn't extend Dak earlier.
Y'all blaming Dak for getting his money, but maybe blame the geriatric derelict calling the shots.

I don't blame anyone for getting their money. But being that Dak's cap hit is 1.5x the hit of freaking Patrick Mahomes, who also has WR issues, it's easy to see why the blame falls on the QB some. I mean if he took 4 years for 120 instead of 240 they could've easily afforded Micah and gotten Dak a good RB and another good WR. Again, not blaming someone for getting what they're worth but there's two sides to the argument.

Exactly, Jerry would have just either pocketed the profit or gave a bigger contract to Zeke or something else moronic. Dallas might have the worst front office / coaching if it wasn't for Cleveland.

No one is saying he should take less. I think he should get all he can. Still though, him taking a huge chunk of the cap will have a direct effect on his supporting cast, so you can't have it both ways.

If Jerry would have extended him earlier instead of waiting till the last minute he could have signed a more team friendly deal but he didn't... also this league is brutal so if you're Dak and sign a lesser deal the get hurt and lose value for rest of career he'd be crazy for not getting what he can when he can

He didn't get 'all he can'. He got what he is worth. After playing for chump change the first four years. The reason he doesn't have a supporting cast is because the front office sucks at it.

As a saints fan, I know exactly how this goes. Brees was signed a good deal, and he was surrounded by a good team. As his contract went up, the surrounding talent went down. The saints were pretty bad until they landed an all-time rookie class in 2017. Not sure why you guys are arguing that paying one player a substantial portion of your cap won't have an effect on the cast. I mean they just traded one of the best defenders in football over money
ETA... right now, off has parsons rated the 4th best player in football regardless of position. I would think Dallas' D would look much better with him.
