Look, I am all for the athletic department to make money on concessions. But charging $5 for one of the worst hotdogs I have ever eaten is criminal. That hot dog, given its size, should be around $1.50. Remember the old Hump Dogs.... those things were terrific. That is what a $5 hotdog looks like.

Alright, that is really just one thing.
I see we have returned to the $80 trip to the concession stand for a family of 4 again. Ballsy considering they just raised ticket prices after going 2-10.

The old Hump hotdogs were great. Bryan used to make them special for State

We are unfortunately playing catch up, Selmon is a business man first (and that is needed to keep us relevant). a $5 hot dog is a steal at most P4 stadiums and def at any NFL stadium.

Yeah, but the quality of a $5 hotdog has to be there.
I say charge $7.50 per dog and give me one that would make my wife blush.

7.50/ Ha try 9-10 bucks for a basic dog at any other place. 5 bucks is a steal for a cold piece of bologna with mustard on it, no bread.

So, this can be the 2nd thing.

How does parking work along Lee Blvd work now? I've always been able to get there early enough to park there for a relatively easy walk to the Union. Now, it's all zoned for Park Mobile. I have used Park Mobile before but it is still sometimes confusing, especially in this case because there are no actual spaces marked off. We arrived for the ASU game and were in shock. Tried to figure it out but couldn't get more then 3 minutes of parking time. Ended up just nudging down the hill with everybody else. It was stupid, while almost no one parked along Lee Blvd, maybe half as many cars as usual. Lots of empty wasted space.

So, is this a University thing or a city thing? And does it even apply to gameday or is it just kind of normal weekday thing?

Did not realize that. IF that was in the mid 90's then amen to their effort. That was my dinner before a weekday game.

Back in the day my dad sat at the 50 yard line approximately 12 rows up. Several rows back then were the only rows that had back rest. Usually U.S. senators sat in this area. One game senator Stennis sat behind us. I was in high school not yet enrolled at state. Senator Stennis had a man care taker with him. Stennis was in a pretty old feeble state. It got towards the middle of 4th quarter. Stennis’s care taker decided it was time to leave and he got Stennis standing erect and started ushering Stennis down the row. Stennis kept attempting to bend over as to pick up something. His caretaker kept making him stand up. It made somewhat of commotion behind us. I turned around to see what was happening. Finally Stennis’s caretaker bent over and picked up what Stennis was attempting to retrieve. A mostly empty pint bottle of Old Charter.

Weren't we trying to match Mercedes Benz prices a few years ago? Did Salmon come in and scrap that?

I started bringing in some things in our clear bag. Our cost may be cheaper than others but it ain't cheap.

Gas, food, tickets, somewhere to stay - it cost a lot to do to games.

I paid $16 for a hotdog in West Sacramento at an A's game earlier this year.

The worst hotdog ever. No amount of mustard or relish could salvage it. Even considered adding ketchup, which would be a mortal sin for eating a decent hotdog.

It was bad.

My son and I leave his apartment in Starkville a couple of hours early and walk to the Union to eat at ChicFilet. The only other option there is the Chinese place. The Pizza Hut and Newk's have yet to be open on gameday as they probably can't get enough help. Subway is also available in the former florist shop in route and I don't know about Moe's or other options in the remodeled Perry Cafeteria complex. I have read conflicting info online on the hours the cafeteria is open on Saturdays. Would like to check it out. Loved eating there back in my student days along with President Stephen D. Lee!**** BTW: The 1878 BBQ I had at the Alcorn game was about $11. As much as they are making on beer and the canned mixed drinks looks like they could spread the wealth with food venders and give the fans a better break. As we left the game, the vendor sites were heavy with unsold food. I wonder what happens to it. Told my nephew and his friends that they could brag that "I drank $50 worth of beer and didn't even cop a buzz!" Hail State!

If it ain't Nathan's Famous, it ain't worth fifty cents.

My buddy owns Wacked Out Wiener which serves only Nathan's Famous. Came to know Nathan's and Joey Chestnut with my first job in Manhattan fresh out of State MBA. Now I regularly go to get my 'wiener wacked'. ***** Trust the Dust.

From MSU to Manhattan sounds like culture shock I could not begin to fathom.

Yep. From Starkville to midtown Manhattan 45th and 6th. 38th floor of the International Paper building. My wife and I loved New York and we went back every few years after we moved on. She loved the museums, the Mets/Yankees and most of all the theater.

Bump. Really hoping somebody can provide some input on this. Perhaps I should put it in it's own thread?
