Blackout This Weekend

So this is probably something we haven't done AS WELL of a job at advertising but it is a blackout this weekend. So please wear black. Yes I know our colors are maroon and white. No we're not trying to change the colors. Yes you can wear black to one game, hell I wear black to every game. The blackout with the black jerseys will look great for TV. So if you don't have a black polo, go buy one. It doesn't even have to be a Mississippi State polo. And if you're just so adamant "yell at the clouds" that you're not going to wear black then go get a black hat.

Now if you want to blackout the other way, well I do have a recipe for that. You will pour a 12 count of vodka into a cup, add water, add Mio, mix, and let the fun begin.

Hey, at least we didn't call for an 11:00 AM game in September for a "Blackout".** I love maroon and white with no white helmets, except in all white for road games, some gold for the Egg Bowl. We all have a black shirt of some style and we will be there, in black, Saturday! Hail State!

I'm not the problem, I have black polos. But I can guarantee there will be a ton of people that complain about "buying a new shirt that's not even our colors!" - if those people refuse, at least wear maroon (not white).

I don't think you're the problem. I don't think anyone who posts on message boards, outside of some of the GPers, are the problem. It's the sidewalk fans and the Poor Ole's. Hell our fmr AD's wife commented on a post saying that black wasn't our colors and she was wearing Maroon and White!!!

So, I went to Academy Sports in Flowood during lunch yesterday and they had almost nothing in black. I mean the pickings were slim for State fans looking for black anything. There was a lot of maroon shirts. I?m taking that as a good sign for a nice crowd Saturday night. I?ll be there with my Walmart black State shirt on. And yeah, my Walmart was a little slim on black shirts too.

Nothing. Academy had zilch. Dick’s had one black shirt that looked like it was screen printed in the 80s with some stupid state of MS design on it.

Both College Corner stores had one black tshirt with a whack Mississippi State spelled out design. Polos were nonexistent.

So basically if you are looking for anything black in the Jacktown metro, don’t bother.

I've already spent thousands of dollars on MSU football this fall and I ain't buying a shirt I'll wear once that I don't want. Wearing a black shirt will not score a point for us or prevent a point. I'll cheer the Dawgs in any color. Hail State!

Yep not much different on TV. TBH, black makes it look like not many there to some degree. Does dark in the stands do anything for the team? I doubt it. My dark maroon presence will not even be noticed.
