The Savannah Bananas or Party Animals or whatever was at Dudy Noble last night and tonight. They are popular, well attended, and loved. I acknowledge their popularity. But I think it?s the dumbest, most unentertaining crap in the history of entertainment. They make my eyes bleed. You couldn?t pay me $1000 to attend a game. Rant over.

How can you even have a take when you weren?t or haven?t even been there?

If you go thinking you?re going to a baseball game you will be disappointed. Hence, the reason they don?t call it baseball. Go to it with the understanding it?s entertainment, like wrestling.

I have not seen them live. I would guess that the atmosphere- music, fans, etc would be a good time live.
I have watched about 2-3 innings on TV and it went from really cool to pretty lame fairly quickly.

Note: I have it from an inside source that a former State pitcher is trying out for them. I think they are adding team(s).

I like when they pitch to the guy on stilts.

A lot of the guys are MLB has-beens or never-was, but many are still very athletic.

Most kids actually watch it, and are entertained, instead of getting fidgity and wanting to play under/behind the bleachers like at regular baseball games. That is important.

If you go into it thinking you are going to be watching baseball then you will be disappointed. If you go in thinking you are watching the Harlem globetrotters of baseball then you will be entertained.

As I type this, I am in parking lot 4 about to head to the gate for the Saturday night game. My boys are super pumped about it and their mom and I are, as well. First time to attend. I will know in 3-4 hours whether it?s for me or not, but I expect it to be entertaining and good family fun. This is also HUGE for MSU, bulldog baseball, and Starkville. A bunch of wins regardless if I like it or not. These players have been all over social media gushing about our stadium and facilities. Another win there too.

I mostly agree, although I’m not as hostile about it as the OP. The best parts to me are the races that they bring fans onto the field for. The kids racing around the bases with tubes around them was funny. The BullSheet race was too, especially when the chubby kid got knocked over.

There now. Five year old me would have loved it. Six year old me would have left before the game. My friend had 4 tickets and my girlfriend wanted to go. I'm the driver so I can't leave. It's college softball crossed with The Running Man.

It is what it is. I think they're good for baseball in general. If you like traditional serious baseball there's MLB and minor league baseball. There's also college baseball which has a little more fun elements too in the SEC footprint especially.

But there are no one like the Bananas and they appeal to another segment of people that want to watch baseball with trick catches, players dancing and having fun in general. And I think that's great.

I like how unlike the Globetrotters the Bananas aren't a guaranteed win when you go watch them. They could lose to the Party Animals.

Some people are not going to like them and that's OK too because those people have options as far as baseball that they would like better.

Yeah. They have four official teams in Banana Ball now and I think a developmental type team. I'm not sure how far they intend to take things.

I saw a tweet ( X post ) that leads me to believe that Mitch Moreland plays/performs with them. Goes by the stage name "Mitchy Two Bags". Also saw a video post by one of their stars where he was emphatically praising Dudy Noble Field and the baseball atmosphere and also carried on about how The Dude blows Alex Box and Baum away. So that has gotta count for something....

I'm almost 60 and enjoyed it. I came for entertainment, not baseball. "Don't Stop Believin''" brought back good memories.
