Well.....looks like the Deion era will be coming to an end today. Seems that he is going to step away due to health issues, whether that be taking a leave of absence or retiring altogether. Be very interesting to see what happens to some of the players. If he retires they technically have 30 days to transfer. With us having two former Colorado staffers now on staff we definitely could have a leg up on some players.

He said he's back and feeling great. So I guess we'll see what that really means.

Kind of reading the tea leaves. He has a press conference today to "provide general and team updates" and his medical team is joining him. He's had some health issues this offseason and it seems like most people believe that he may step away from the team today.

And maybe it's "Hey, I'm feeling great and we're ready to go." But I don't think you make that announcement alongside your medical team. I've seen someone say that he could announce that due to his health he won't coach from the sidelines this year, ala Paterno in his final season. And obviously there's the infamous Hugh Freeze coaching from his hospital bed incident.

Oh I agree. I think it's odd to have his medical staff with him and not step down or something like that. But I was just posting what he's saying. It'll be a bit interesting. I guess......

I don't read it like he is going to retire today but there is a lot of speculation for sure. The OP wrote as if it was happening and not just speculation very similar to Click bait headlines. I will wait for it to happen but be aware it could.
Either way, it is clear his health is a major issue. He wrote a will and has been absent much of the summer. He hasn't even met a lot of the new players. A couple weeks before the first game? That would not have happened otherwise.
I am not expecting a ton from Colorado this year anyway. Shedeur and Hunter are both gone but don't forget that TN won the year after Peyton left for NFL. The talent level at Colorado has been improved since he got there.

Kudos to him for keeping on coaching. He's made enough money to just sit back and relax. Deion is loud and seeks attention at times but there's other times you can tell he does genuinely care about the kids.

This did not age well or even last to the end of the day. People usually have to search for old posts to find such things.

I don't know how saying seems that he is doing something isn't aging well....but ok. No one knew. It was speculation, but a hell of a lot of it that he'd be stepping away.
Also, just about every college football writer was speculating the same thing. Also, the health issues part was right on the money.
