He performed his final concert just in time, 17 days ago. Honestly, he lived longer (76 y.o.) than he should have given his lifestyle in earlier years.

As one who grew up in the Satanic Panic era, where Ozzy was going to damn us all to hell and AC/DC stood for Anti-Christ/Devil Child, the death of this era of rockers is going to hit us hard....

For all those who hated him in the late 70s/early 80s - know his last act was to host a concert that raised $190 million dollars for Cure Parkinsons, Birmingham Children's Hospital (UK), and Acorn Children's Hospice.

Yeah, a lot of Ozzy's antics were just for show. You knew he was near the end but even said, this one bothered me. A part of my youth is gone.

I remember Black Sabbaths Paranoid Album. We used to blare it just to drive my dad crazy.

Damn! Got to see him in concert in the late 80s in Birmingham. Motley Crue opened for him. So glad they did that final concert and he sounded amazing.

If you haven't seen it, and it's your cup of tea, check out Jack Black's video cover of Mr. Crowley. It's amazing.

Saw Black Sabbath on their 10th Anniversary Tour at the late, great Mid-South Coliseum (Saw about 100 or so bands there in the '70's and '80's). They fired Ozzy that year, 1979? You've probably read the story. Black Sabbath was falling apart and booked a young, hungry band called Van Halen to warm up for them and yes, Van Halen blew them off the stage that night in Memphis. Ozzy was later quoted as asking from the side of the stage, "Who booked this bunch to follow?".

The founder of heavy metal way back in 1968. No one else was doing that in the mainstream for at least another 5 years.

As long some funding is still there, scientists are waiting for Keith Richards
