I would fire Lebby tomorrow if it meant that Nick Saban would be our coach.
And I like Lebby.

Honestly, a place like MSU would be a good retirement hobby for him. We don't have stupid high expectations. He could and would easily win as much as Jackie did in his prime here. Would attract immediate attention to MSU and we would become more of a factor in recruiting and in the portal. He would give MSU a shot in the arm that is desperately needs in football.

I agree!! Man I'd love that. But Nick wouldn't ever come to State. He ain't coaching again. If he does, it'll be somewhere "smallish".

We say our expectations wouldn't be high, but be honest, if Saban was our coach everybody on this board would start thinking about not just making the playoffs, but making some noise once there.

If Saban was our coach the expectations would be national championship or bust. Hell, coming off 2-10 and the roster still in a bit of a reloading mode, if Saban was our coach this year people would expect a national championship. Hell, he's not our coach and we'll still have people pissed off to hell and back when Georgia and Texas beat us this year.

It's one of two things:
1. Whoever told that to McElroy, spoke to Saban and Saban said that he missed coaching. Which is not unnormal, I think any coach that doesn't coach anymore always gets the itch to coach around this time every year. Because for however many years they've coached, this was always the time that things started getting ramped up. For Saban, and most SEC coaches, they would've gotten back from their vacation homes on Lake Norman late last week and they start to gear up for the grind.
2. Saban thinks that the NIL stuff is in a much better place and it's not as wild west as it was when he stepped down.

These type stories are just low hanging click bait that require nothing but speculation and imagination and are aimed at fans thirsting for any football during the summer dead period. At 72, it very likely Saban isn?t getting back into coaching. If he did, i could only see him taking an NFL job, IF it gnaws at him that his time at Miami wasn?t successful.
IF LSU did fire BK (very unlikely) hopefully Salmon is on the phone with him the same day.

100% absolutely TRUE.
It would not surprise me if LSU cans Kelly with an 8-4 winning record to bring back Saban. We build statues for coaches that keep us a perennial 8-4 while LSU fires theirs'.

Absolutely. Saban won't take a job if the NIL isn't set up for him to be a national championship contender, so in the 1/10,000 chance that he comes to coach us, that means we've done what it takes to get him interested, just like we did what it took to get O'Connor interested.

Of course he?s not coming back. Only an idiot buys these click bait stories that are crafted to fill the summer void. No harm in having fun with these type stories, but don?t believe them.

Why would Saban regret not coaching IMG Academy? The States of Georgia, Texas, and California have directed their members not to schedule IMG? Also IMG is not eligible for post season play because it does not adhere to Florida rules for player eligibility, thus no post season for the outlaws. This is IMG and would Saban put his reputation into this football environment?

It's close to home (just opposite coast of jupiter) and he's already got his hands plenty involved there. He enjoy coaching young kids to become men. Winning isn't what drove him anymore - it's seeing the kids grow up. That academy style would scratch that itch.

They made him an offer he couldn't refuse... highest paid forever plus the best NIL, before there was an NIL (allegedly of course)

Man, if Saban came to MSU, he would kill over within a season or two. His heart wouldn?t be able to handle the dumbass play we are capable of. And it would take a few years to get his kind of talent so that the play could be closer to his expectations. It would be like a PhD professor going to teach finger painting to preschoolers.

But...hear me out...there are retired PhD art professors that love teaching young kids the basics and fundamentals of art.
And it would definitely be our luck Saban kicks the bucket after three seasons. We make the playoffs, finish like #8 in the country, beat OM three years in a row and then Saban passes away in the summer before camp throwing everything into utter chaos.
