From the email the school sent out earlier.

In a year defined by momentum, belief and investment, Mississippi State Athletics and the Bulldog Club shattered fundraising records in fiscal year 2025 to deliver the most successful 12 months of support in department history. Fueled by the generosity and commitment of Bulldog Club members, the department raised $84.6 million in donations and pledges.

The $84.6 million raised more than doubled the previous all-time fundraising record. Other highlights from this record-breaking year include:

202 major gifts signed (most ever in a fiscal year and 3x the average for MSU Athletics)
10 seven-figure gifts signed (more seven-figure commitments this past year, than last 10 years combined)
More than 125 Cristil Society members added since its inception in August 2024

The record-setting year comes amid sustained momentum for Mississippi State Athletics, highlighted by strategic facility enhancements, academic achievement and postseason success across many sports. In addition to record fundraising, the department has made significant strides in revenue generation, ticket sales, NIL growth, fan experience and other key areas ? all reinforcing Mississippi State?s commitment to progress, leadership and providing a world-class experience for student-athletes in the new era of college athletics.

And our fundraising may just be getting started. There's a potential donation, that may be close to getting done, out there that would dwarf anything we've ever been given by a WIDE margin.

If Selmon leaves us... he's left the next guy so much runway to be considered the best AD in school history.

Yea but that next guy has to be like Selmon, a relentless fundraiser and a gregarious personality. He can't go back to being Cohen-esque. Basically having his group of boosters and only worrying about them. Selmon will have a beer with the $5 fan as fast as the 5 million dollar fan.

Which means we should know what type of guy to hire...
should.

Seems to me IF Selmon was OU first choice it would have been a done deal. With their AD sticking around as an advisor is kinda weird for an experience AD candidate. I'm not sure I would like those conditions, but he is well thought of In Norman. Btw, Polk hung around as a so-called advisor and it caused problems.

UT-Knoxville got well over $400 million in donations in the past year. Not all of that is for an athletics obviously. But nearly a 1/2 billion $ donated in a record breaking year. Goodness, what a waste of good money!!!

Is everyone posting their amounts raised. Everyone was always posting how we should keep this secret.

This is great and thanks to all involved. Wonder how much is donations vs pledges as it applies to immediate impact, long term availability and future planning.

The amount is important but to me the bigger story is that, regardless of the amount, it is double our previous fundraising; more than double.

We need to keep those that pushed for Cohen as AD, far far away from any decision making. Easier said than done.
