Because they will attempt, at the start at least, to follow the rules

While most mothers will cheat.

I highly doubt it. They have a built in advantage of being a national brand. Therefore, their QB can get 6-7 figure national brand deals that won't eat into their rev share numbers. There's also a bunch of money in and around Austin that they can use to their advantage. For example, Austin has a Lamborghini dealership. They can give 5 skill players lamborghini leases as well as some walking around money to do autograph signings, tweets, etc.

Whats going to happen to them if they dont? The NCAA is no more

Everything that is happening just helps the Blue Bloods.

No one will follow the rules outside of the ones who can’t afford under the table compensation.

I doubt it, but... all the blue bloods may take a step back because anyone can buy a player these days. All it takes is a Billionaire that wants it to happen. Texas Tech for instance is spending big time and will have a roster full of highly paid players shortly that is not going to Texas. It's easier than ever to make your team a blue blood, all it takes is money.

Playing by the rules? I see no way anyone does that.

Too bad nobody at State has been able to get George Bishop to fund athletics. Multi time billionaire.

There's State people who live near him in The Woodlands that say he just has no interest in athletics really. Everyone has tried. When he donated 100 million to the university a few years ago Keenum tried to talk him into donating 5-10 million for athletics and having 90-95 go to academics but he wouldn't budge.

To each their own I guess.
The Texas tech billionaire guy played football at tech. So he's an athletics guy.

Need to convince bishop that a successful athletic program increases enrollment and prestige for academics.

I just wish he'd get Keenum to focus more on Out of State recruiting instead of focusing on getting the graduating class of Clarksdale Lee, no offense to anyone who went to Lee. It's a fine school. I know of a lot of people that went there that went on to be successful. Of course I know the same number that flunked out after one semester.

I was listening to 247's College football podcast - "COVER 3" and they shared this:

They were discussing the issue of the NIL rules. It came out that one team told it's players verbally that whatever they were getting now was subject to changing depending on how much other teams were breaking the new rules. If everyone follows them, so will they, but if others aren't then they will be prepared for that as well.

Texas has spend 35-40MM on their football team this Fall. There is no going back

No. No going back.
Most of us knew that NIL would be the death of State football. It happened pretty damn fast too when you throw in Leach dying and Arnette taking over. We're cooked.

Texas is the wealthiest CFB program in the history the world.

Everybody front loaded their rosters for the next 12-36 months prior to House.

Let's see how it shakes out the next 5 years. Can't be more disadvantageous than what we had pre House.

That's why rev share is good for us.

We don’t sign 4 or 5 stars or very few anyway. We have recruit 2 and 3’s like DM did and we had success. Blood bloods will spend lots of money competing against other blue bloods so money will go fast. LOL.
