Ya’ll chill out. Yeah Coach34 generally has a glass half empty outlook (i do as well). He does have a point about our better transfers coming with the coach and we don’t have a “name” transfer that isn’t from VA yet. Lucky for us, we have some good pieces that are already here and the transfers already in the boat should give us a better team than last year’s. We hope the coaching upgrade translates and gets the potential out of the talent.

We use the guys that came with the coach to win and go deep in the post season next year and we will get more attention from top tier transfers. We have to have something to show them.

We've already landed as many 64analytics Top 250 players this year than we did under Lemon's last 2 years combined (9).

Most splashy name players in the portal are a draft risk. Even a couple we've landed.

But that's not actually the issue.

The pessimistic look is that we had a major defensive problem at both catcher and shortstop. We have addressed catcher with some bats but questionable defense. We don't have a true confirmed answer at shortstop.

Having a mashing lineup and trying to win every game 17-10 is a strategy. But I'd rather win 17-3 like most others.

Class looks great for a top 5 program with lots of holes. Naturally we're gonna be #1 in the portal no competition in coaching change amongst our peers. But overall, we have a lot of potential arms and ideas of a rotation, we've got bats to make a solid 1-9 lineup with a few platoon possibilities. But we lack surefire defense in the two most important defensive positions. With as many games as we lost because of errors this year... would like to have some peace of mind.

It's just a narrative some have to use to justify other narratives that have already been disproven.

This is trending in a very positive direction so far, still have a couple of holes to fill and to wait out the draft for it all to shake out. Thanks to those that are fully invested and funding this renovation of the baseball program. It is very true this staff is benefiting from previous relationships with their players and we should be very grateful they are, it has been extremely beneficial. Hopefully they can make more inroads with players they don?t have previous relationships with. That is where they will sink or swim.
