But you played for the SEC tournament title?

I don?t think they understand that it doesn?t matter! You wasted your energy on SECT! Now your spent. Tired.

Oh yeah, what was our excuse?

We didn?t even compete in SEC tournament so well rested.

We weren?t terrible in Regional but also weren?t great.

Whether they win or not, I do understand your point. They used a lot of pitching in that useless tournament. So did Vandy.

The SEC Tournament will suck the life out of you.

They got to host a regional after they were on the outside looking in. So I guess it was worth it from that standpoint.

But when they had the opportunity they didn't get it done against Murray State.

It seemed like they had more than their share of luck throughout the year. They had a very veteran team though and it looks like they could lose a lot of guys.

Fake news. UT won the SEC Tournament and the NCAA Championship last year.

Most of us on here would like to tell them 2 words with the first one beginning with the letter F.

Yes, but now they get to hang an SEC Tournament runner up banner along with a Regional championship runner up banner. So it was well worth it.*****

The fake plantation owners were in rare form on another message board. The jealousy of our hire was quite apparent. They were blasting us for spending so much on baseball a non-revenue sport. They repeatedly said we should have spent those monies on football and football nil. They were also chirping the same tired phrase that only a few give a hoot about baseball. And same tired rant that nobody wants to live or go to school in Starkville. Well they got reminded that their baseball stadium is not actually on campus, was built by the city of Oxford/Lafayette County and is a dump. That this past season they spent 10mil on a coach and another 20mil on nil, for what to go to a meaningless bowl game.

The ONLY two championships matter in college baseball is the TRUE conference championship which is the regular season and the national championship. That?s it. Period. End of story. Once you know you?re not going to win the SEC, start getting ready to win the CWS. You can?t do that by being worn out. Intentionally lose in the SECT, yes! Teams do it every year! Start a mediocre pitcher and leave him in. Tennessee did it two years ago bc they were healthy and had a bye.

Would you rather host and lose like OM did or not host and win it and advance? The goal is Omaha. Not Hoover.

Has anybody really validated that it makes that much of a difference? Ole Miss played 4 games in the SEC tournament. One Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. That looks suspiciously like the schedule you would have in a normal week of baseball in the SEC? They then turned around and started their regional on the following Friday. If you have pitchers that are wearing down and could use some rest, definitely let them have the rest and I wouldn't stretch any pitcher to try to stay in it, but it just doesn't seem like that big of a deal. Rest pitchers that seem to need it. Don't run up any pitch counts on any pitchers unless its the bottom of the pen just trying to finish up games to protect your more significant contributors. Otherwise it seems like the extra time off is just as likely to hurt them as playing something that is pretty close to a normal week. Those teams playing on the first day if they got hot could maybe get hurt. But Ole Miss was the only team that played more than 3 games. I would think very few teams will end up playing more than 3 games if we keep the set up as is.
