Renfroe continues to struggle with runners on.

Come on Evan!!!

Damn could this ****er throw strikes in HS or did we take him on hope alone. So tired of this shit.

msstate7

That could be what turns Evans year around.

Maybe but a leadoff walk and 48 coming in is more likely

29 pitches in one inning won't get you deep into a game. Ridiculous pitch count after one inning.

Damn I can predict this team.

And gone after one inning and four walks.

Need 3 from Ross 3 from Gentry and 2 from Bracewell.

Mix Girodo in somewhere. Holder shouldn't pitch today.

I have a friend who is in the medical profession and knows EM. He told this person he has No idea where the ball is going when he pitches. Sad.

Should have known better. Good job Ross

I hope the EM experiment is finally over. I hate it for him, but this is big time baseball, and we have to move on to something else, whatever that might be.

Ross is definitely making a case for MVP of our team with how many times he has bailed us out of these shitty situations.

I wonder if he'll be back next season.

I don't guess Will Cox will pitch again this year. He gives up some hits at times but at least he doesn't walk everyone he faces.

Jim said he has the sec leading era. Our MVP is between Ross and renfroe

I hate that we keep having to use Ross, but damn he's effective. At what point do you pull him though?

We need an offensive output so our coaches will feel comfortable bring someone in.

Home Run Renfroe

Get Ross Mitchell out of this game and give the ball to Gentry for 2, Girodo for 1, Bracewell for 1.

msstate7
04-23-2013, 08:13 PM
I wish he would but I don't think he will. He'll probably bring in holder soon.

engie
04-23-2013, 08:14 PM
Damn it, get these guys some work in a position to succeed(full innings of their own). I f'n hate putting Gentry and others in with ducks on the pond and making it more difficult for them than it has to be.

Amen. But it ain't happening. Hell, I'm expecting to see Holder in a few minutes. Head scratcher man. Cohen is terrified to pitch anyone but Ross and Holder.

msstate7
04-23-2013, 08:15 PM
5-1 now. We can forget anyone but holder now

engie
04-23-2013, 08:16 PM
Now he's about to put one of them in -- in a pressure situation with the deck stacked against them.

CadaverDawg

Another wasted night for our bullpen. Bracewell will not be sharp the next time he takes the mound. It's been like 3 weeks since he's pitched a meaningful inning. This is stupid. I would rather lose by getting guys work if it means us being able to make a deeper tourney run.

Don't get me wrong, I like to win...but we need more arms for the postseason.

Geez, 7-1 lead in the 8th and Ross is STILL pitching.

engie

Exactly.

Throw the scrubs Cohen. Jesus H.

04-23-2013, 08:42 PM
I think Cohen is doing whatever he can for these midweek victories now (and other easy wins, such as Alabama). I'm guessing he finally realized it'd be a real good thing for him if MSU hosts a regional. Also think you're going to see him go all out trying to win the Sunday game at Vanderbilt. He knows what we're up against, and he knows losing 2 to Vandy isn't going to hurt much at all. So he wanted to make damn sure we got this one tonight.

CadaverDawg
04-23-2013, 08:46 PM
Ha, Ross only threw 56 pitches through 6 innings?! Unreal.

By the way, Georgia is beating Georgia Tech 15-0! What the hell?

Yea, you are right, it was technically in the 7th while he was still pitching. I misread the inning on live stats.

Just looked at Memphis's schedule and record....

The most runs they have given up on the season in 1 game, is 9. Tonight we scored 12 on one of their better pitchers.

We've got a hell of a team guys. This could be a special season finish.

Just heard the post game with Cohen and he said he believes E Mitchell has a bright future in front of him. Sounds to me like this was his' last chance for us.

Probably so. What I hate about it is we never gave him shot as a reliever. Not saying it would've worked, but it couldve been his niche.

I've been wondering the same thing, 7. When you have a head case that struggles starting, why not give him a chance in shorter outings? His stuff is so nasty that he could be absolutely dominant for one inning at a time.

Yep, I've been asking that same question for weeks. Seems that if we only asked him to get us 3 outs, he could focus a little better and possibly get the job done. Power thrower, nasty stuff...sounds like a closer or set up man.

I understand he never got the shot- well this year as a reliever- we tried that before and it didn't work. But let's be honest, as a reliever you have to throw strikes. Would you bring that guy in w two runners on? Hell no. two batters later he's walked one in. So as a reliever you can bring him in to start an inning. That's not different than starting a game. No one on. No one out. Nasty stuff but he can't hit a bull in the ass w a quilt. He's had plenty of opportunities to prove himself in three years, it's a shame it didn't work out.
