Not in MS it isn't, it's second behind Madison Co. Housing is over priced and taxes are high for MS in Starkville. I live down toward the coast much cheaper. Out of state? I'd agree. Love Starkville but affordability in MS isn't great, especially without medical facilities.

No idea what this means. There are plenty of places in MS that have higher real estate costs. Madison, Germantown, anywhere worth living on the Gulf Coast, Desoto County to name a few.

I live near the coast, it's cheaper than real estate taxes in Starkville. The county taxes are ridiculous and then the city stuff is high too. Fewer services/amenities in Starkville too.

Median home in Okibbeha Co is over 350K, Top 5 in MS. It's expensive guys! 10 years ago it was cheap. I missed my chance and kick myself in the ass every gameday.

So lucky that our condo became available when it did. It's worth 3x now what it was when it was purchased in 2018. And they were even cheaper when they were built in 2015.

I looked at condos and there are still some decently priced condos in Starkville. I just couldn't afford what I wanted in a location I preferred. If some things change, I still might grab a condo in the next two years.

The median home price in the country is currently $416k. Starkville is expensive for Mississippi, but cheap nationally. Starkville is also easily one of the most desirable places to live in the state, and that comes with higher home prices and taxes to keep things nice.

The medical facility is about to take care of itself. Baptist and NMMC are jockeying to buy OCH. That'll be a major win either way for Starkville and surrounding counties. Both have the resources to vastly improve the services and infrastructure of OCH.

No one has disputed any of that minus quality medical community/facilities and I could throw in schools too but they don't apply to me. The fact remains, it's expensive for MS & if you aren't a State fan, it's not that desirable because of those things.
