I think the Bracket publication was very eye opening.

If the 13th SEC team can make a region, likely with a 12-18 or 13-17 record. Then the NCAA regional is what the SEC Tourney used to be. Unless you really suck, you can make the field.

Then just making the NCAA is not an accomplishment for an MSU coach anymore.

Hypothetically, in a streaky weekend in Tallahassee, a super marginal 3-Seed SEC team could sneak into a Super. That's a wild possibility.

I don't think a regional should change anything. If it does, then MSU really treated Gary Henderson unfairly in 2018. He had a busted pitching staff, conquered Tallahassee, conquered Nashville, and was in the Final-4 for the Nation. Only lost to Oregon State, the eventual national champs.

As with anything- it's fluid. Do we want to consistently be the 13th team in the SEC no? But we do compete in the toughest conference in the country and now baseball matters to everyone except Missouri. We got off to a slow start but have now seem to be playing solid baseball. We likely finish in the Top 10 of the SEC after finishing Top 5 in the SEC last year. We'll see how we finish. I'm pumped for tonight. Need to keep rolling

Bottom line is we could be better than we show and that has been the MO with Lemon and staff. There are no excuses for underachieving like we do.
