We "should" be able to hit their starter. He has two pitches and neither is overwhelming.

bad luck continues for this team. Stallman slaps hit hard off the pitcher- bounces straight to the 3rd baseman

We could see he was determined to make the adjustments. It didn't produce results immediately but he stuck with it. Kudos to him and glad it paid off for him.

HH at 14 straight games with a hit now.

Finally decided to grow as a hitter and it’s paying off for him. Approach is miles ahead of early season.

Lord McBuckethead
04-06-2025, 02:17 PM
You kidding. He only looked to start making adjustments like two and half weeks ago. And like a little leaguer, he remembered how to hit an outside pitch the other way, finally.

With his skill, he should be batting .400 with twice as many extra base hits. If he constantly looks to hit the other way, his power numbers will skyrocket. Plus people will not be able to shift with runners on.

Lord McBuckethead
04-06-2025, 02:18 PM
Becker is throwing some flat balls, time to choke up and single this guy to death. Let?s go.

Lord McBuckethead
04-06-2025, 02:19 PM
Hines should have hit that first pitch into the parking lot.

Lord McBuckethead

He's been working at it longer than that Buck.

Lord McBuckethead
04-06-2025, 02:27 PM
I said it 5 minutes ago, everyone obviously should be looking breaking ball from this guy. HH, Steven?s, and the 2nd baseman all watching 80 mph meat pitches go down the pipe.

Lord McBuckethead
04-06-2025, 02:29 PM
He's been working at it longer than that Buck.

Yeah, but before 12 games ago, he looked like shit doing it. 12 games ago, he started to actually swing the bat without hesitation to hit the other direction.

Also, before 12 games ago, he couldn?t hit anything.

Fact being, he had this same problem for last season and the season before that. Total failure by him and the coaching staff to not work on this very specific skill over the last 26 months.

14 game hitting streak

He hit .296 with 22 Hr's as a Soph

He refused to change last season and the beginning of this season. Much like a drug user- people have to hit rock bottom sometime to get it thru their thick heads. He changed his approach finally and good things are happening

How many times does Becker have to throw first pitch breaking ball for a strike before Geaut tells our hitters to sit on it?

Apparently 15 batters. By the way, I picked up on it on his second batter. Just let the fastball go. If he wants to catch plate with a breaking ball, crush it.

getting sat for a few games always is an attitude changer. Granted he was already working on getting better but getting splinters makes you work harder.

We opted to stay home because of the original weather forecast. Then they pushed it to later this afternoon so we likely would have been OK. Oh well. Sounds like we would not have liked how his outing went down.

Serious question. Are SC fans upset with where their program is or do they not care. Didn?t they win TWO natties within the last 10-15 years?

The Federalist Engineer
04-06-2025, 10:36 PM
Glad for the win. Now take two from Bama and the team can start playing spoiler.

If only this team had taken Saturday from OU and one from Texas, would be a respectable 5-7.

Simmons as long relief was my original thought. With Hungate, Simmons, and Black you should be able to get 6 to 12 innings per weekend. Now what happened to Gavin Black?

You know, I think they're kind of similar to us in some ways. They won a couple of NC's with Ray Tanner and I think they kind of lived off of those for awhile and made Tanner the AD and he made some bad hires for their head coaching position and so they have been underachieving for awhile now. South Carolina has had some success in other sports hiring guys like Spurrier and Holtz after they were past their prime so I think are trying to do the same in baseball with Manieri. Not sure it will work for them.

Has anyone checked on some of the Loungers? South Carolina didn't tweet at them for the hospitality. Almost like teams only do it to rub salt in the wound when the beat us and they're not actually praising them. That'd be crazy though. That'd mean they're making fun of them and we've been told that was ludicrous.
