in maverick, Which I enjoyed way more than the 1st one, his voice was AI generated. Enjoyed him in Tombstone, Best Doc holiday, and in where he played the nerd in Real /genius and Jim Morrison.

It's a travesty for the Academy that he did not even receive a nomination for Best Supporting Actor for Doc. Tommy Lee Jones won it that year for The Fugitive. Nobody walks around quoting TLJ's character like they do Val's Doc.

That's not true. I say "I dont care!!!" on a daily basis
But yes- his lack of even a nomination is ridiculous. Same with Ray Liotta in Goodfellas

That's the only quote from the movie everybody knows.
Shit. Liotta should have been nominated for Best Actor for Henry Hill. That's now an iconic portrayal.

His best role was Doc Holiday in Tombstone. He was the star in that movie IMO. Some of best lines of the movie.

He was not a favorite with the hollywood elites because he told them to kiss his ass without saying it.

This is 100% accurate. Every man makes tombstone quotes all the time.
He was incredible as Doc Holliday.

He was a great actor who was very good in Top Gun and The Doors also. His role in Tombstone was iconic. It was like Brando in The Godfather or Crowe in Gladiator. What was different for him was he was not the lead actor. His performance was greatness in a supporting role like Pesci in Goodfellas

My favorite was at the creek when one of the band of brothers asked him why he was doing this, he should be in bed. Doc "Wyatt is my friend." Heck Doc I got lots of friends. Doc says "I don't"

Johnny Ringo: My fight's not with you, Holliday.
Doc Holliday: I beg to differ, sir. We started a game we never got to finish. "Play For Blood" - remember?
Johnny Ringo: Oh that. I was just foolin' about.
Doc Holliday: I wasn't.

Sorry my friend, but I've got to correct you one of the greatest lines in cinematic history?
It's "I'm your huckleberry".
Probably just a fat thumbs mistake, so all is good. :-)

Lord!! I swear I typed that!!!! Huckle berry!!
Funny thing though years ago people argued he actually said huckle bearer so he had to clear it up himself.
Awesome scene and maybe my favorite.

Great exchange. Kilmer so killed that role. No one can play Doc Holiday again.

I forgot about this one - the Isle of Dr. Moreau. Pretty good movie.
I watched it in the theater and thought that I had not only wasted time, but money as well. Maybe I should go back and watch again?!? This is the movie that made him an outcast for really good roles for the rest of his career, which is a shame.

Overall it's an atrocious movie, lol, but it does have some good stuff in it...Val doing a Marlon Brando impression is pretty good, lol.

Agree I saw it in theater as well and thought it sucked. After watching several more times later it was better than I thought. Kinda like Groundhog Day was for me too.
It hit at some deeper things about life but had a spooky feeling to it like something like that could happen.
