There is a low probability of us winning a regional. If we make one at all.

I could very easily see Kohn beating the 2/3 seed on Friday and Siary shutting down the host (Florida State?) on Saturday, putting us in the driver's seat.

I could see that. Also, if both pitch like they did this weekend Kohn isn't beating anyone and no one will beat Siary.

We swing the bat pretty well with power.
Defense has become average since we played people consistently in the same spot
Pitching is decent
Wont be sent to an SEC Regional

We could certainly win a Regional

Pico needs to get some rest and be ready to go because he's wearing down towards the end of the season.

He needs to reel it in one more week and then take a break.

Hopefully Mizzou blew their load vs A&M and we get the shitty version of them this week.

I will say that this happening this weekend will make our ass take them a helluva lot more seriously now. We are still playing for a Regional spot

This. They need to return to early SEC season form when they were getting beat like 14-2 every game.

Tigers can Hurt You ...

(1) it helps every Team makes the SECT, mizzou has a post season guarantee, no back against wall
(2) Helps they are not 0-27, that's painful, they got their win
(3) Helps MSU got OBVIOUSLY lucky AF versus OM
(4) Helps the MSU coaches have their immediate futures to consider
(5) Seems that TAM gave up this weekend. Shocking.
(6) Jackson Lovich (SS at Mizzou) is a baller. Just walk this monster. Got 8 hits, 7 RBI, 3 Runs, 0 Walks on TAM.

I'll go to Corvallis. There are 5 high quality breweries a short Uber ride away from the Goss Stadium.

They have a good chance. They have not lost a series all season- play Troy this weekend. They win that series their RPI is likely in the 20's. The Committee rewarded teams like that last year. Will they this year? Maybe- depending on how much BS they caught last year for doing it.

Their RPI is similar to ours. Odds are better that we play them in Corvallis than Hattiesburg.

USM has an RPI of 30. Very unlikely that they host.

There are plenty of non-P4 teams with better resumes. Coastal Carolina is likely to host, and if they want to give out another bid, it's more likely to go to Dallas Baptist, UTSA, or Northeastern.

Having said that, I really hope they do host and we get sent there. It will be 2017 all over again.

They won't give it to DBU. Stadium is small and no on campus parking. Like NONE. They have like 150 spots for visitors on the entire campus.

We've probably done it! Even if we lose tomorrow and Tuesday, I'm about 95% sure we'll still be in. Great turnaround by the team!

Elijah MacNamee Field at Gary Henderson Stadium in Tallahassee, fond memories.

Florida State makes sense, assuming we're one of the lowest 2 seeds, we'd probably get sent to one of the best 1 seeds, but most of those are from the SEC, so there's not many other choices out there. I could see Troy or Stetson as the 3 seed geographically.

D1Baseball has us going to Tallahassee, but as the 3 with Northeastern as the 2.

Baseball America has going to Coastal Carolina as the 3 with NC State as the 2.

Yes indeed! We have a history with Florida State in the postseason!

Mostly good.

These "committees" tend to send teams to places they've been before. We're probably going to be a fairly low end 2 seed IMO, so that means a top 8 regional possibly. Looks like one of the Oregon sites or NC to me right now after looking at projections. If we end up a higher 2, then NCSt or Coastal makes sense. USM has no shot at a regional host.

Just amazing once again we are even talking about a 2 seed, just a few weeks ago we weren't making a regional, LOL. Btw 34, I have to disagree with your thoughts about having the same assistants running the show with you saying main reason Lemonis was let go was he didn't make or go to a regular lineup. His clubhouse leadership was a major fall the last say 4 years, he lacked confidence as it shows in this lineup decision, Parker has worked on fundamentals since taking over than Lemonis ever even thought about.
Seems the players have welcomed this situation and I'm betting they were not all that concerned about the firing talk being our problem.

We are talking 2 seed now, wow hope it happens. Oh, know doubt Missouri may be the worse sec team ever in baseball, let's end the regular season only losing one game since the change.

I don't think we'll be low enough to be at FSU but the committee likes to send teams to familiar places.

This MSU team responded like so many before when our back was against the wall. We are playing well right now at the right time.

I wouldn't want to see this MSU team in my regional.

FINAL UPDATE: We did it! We outperformed my "optimistic path" by 2 games to finish 15-15, and we are a lock to make a Regional, and probably will be a 2 seed. Great job, team!

Whoever draws us as their 2 seed is going to be pissed. Doubly so if we end up as a 3.

...is not very likely. I'm going to be optimistic about our 7 remaining SEC series:

❌✅✅ South Carolina - let's say we take 2/3
✅✅❌ @ Alabama - maybe we get 1
❌❌✅ Florida - they're 1-8 just like us, so we ought to win 2/3 at home
❌✅❌ @ Auburn - again maybe 1
✅✅✅ Kentucky - they have a losing SEC record right now, but it's at home, so let's get 2/3
❌✅✅ Ole Miss - let's be super optimistic and say we take 2/3
✅✅✅ @ Missouri - they've had our number lately even when terrible, but let's say we get 2/3

If we do all of that, winning each remaining home series, winning the series at Missouri, and avoiding a sweep at Alabama and Auburn, that gets us to 13-17, which gives us a chance for a Regional. Not a lock, because I project an RPI around #50 at 13-17, but at least on the table. If we can do all of that and win another game to get to 14-16, I'd feel a lot better.

No SEC team has ever gotten in at 12-18. A few (including us) have gotten in at 12-17, but never 12-18 or worse. Could that change this year? Yes - no 6-12 team had ever made the men's basketball tournament before, and 2 teams did that this year for the first time. But their metrics were a lot better than ours.

It's a yearly tradition here for some posters to be saying we won't make a Regional and usually it's a lot of overreacting, but this year, anyone saying that is probably right. The path listed above is pretty optimistic. Nothing about this season makes me confident that we can go 12-9 in the SEC from here out, and even if we do, I'm not sure we get in.

I can see a path thru Westwood or Corvallis for this team. They could advance from either of those locations.

Hosting is pretty much out of the question. We need to play to secure a 2 seed. A loss to Texas A&M could knock us down to a 3 seed.
