I'm not against throwing him Thursday. But his pitch count was highest of the season vs Oklahoma and he'd be on short rest.

I hope this is a rhetorical question. And if I can still add at my age, he'd have five days rest, which is plenty. He pitches Thursday. I sincerely hope the coaches don't 17 this up.

If lsu has a true Friday night ace and is throwing him Thursday, I would go Pico Friday. Stay on normal rest and gives you the advantage.

6 days between starts is not short rest. For any pitcher at any level, that is plenty of rest between starts.

This is where I am also. Keep him on his regular Friday schedule. Ligon Saturday. Thursday needs to be someone new to roll out there

I agree 100%. This team isn't beating LSU's best pitcher. We would waste Pico by pitching him Thursday.

In a vacuum, sure.
The point is that it's shorter than normal. When you condition your body to a routine, some people struggle when that routine is broken. Either on the shorter rest start or on the next start.

Funny thing is that we have won 2 series in a row over LSU

You throw him and I assume that will happen. 5 day rest is plenty.

Yep. 2-1.
If we would have thrown him game 2 (which I'm not advocating), we won 10-1 (or comfortably at least).

4-5 days rest is typical for a starting pitcher.

Not in college. 7 days is typical.
Doesn't mean pico can't do 4-5 days, but that's not what he is conditioned to do at this point or what he typically does. It's all about what your body is conditioned to do.

Think we're just talking two different things confucius. Yes, college pitchers routinely pitch every seven days. But their bodies typically recover in 4-5 days.

They better be. If we are literally conceding a game then Lemonis is worse than even I realized.

We did it last year to win the series. Johnson has lost 2 series in a row to Lemon
Siary started Game 1 last year vs LSU

maybe Lemo surprises us all and wins the series and has the players engaged in the dugout

He started game 1 in 2023 against them, also.
Won that series and again in 2024.
