1. Nice start to the day working my kid. Took some BP and even showed him my old ass can still swing it-until I got jammed. Now I'll be dealing with a bruised thumb the next few days. Followed it with a couple of beers and crawfish. Makes for a nice day.

2. Great Friday job from Pico. 6 IP/2 hits/2BB's/2HBP's. 0 earned. Simmons and Dotson to finish it off. Helluva job to win us a ballgame.

3. Well, we 100% know who is not the Saturday guy. Davis didnt get any help from his defense but he wasnt good at all. Wasnt getting any sink on his 2 seamer altho there was some run with it. But they hit him pretty well. McPh got put into a pressure Sit and didnt perform well. Hungate responded well tho after last weekend's beating. Williams has great stuff but has turned into Mr. Two Run Bomb. B2B weekends giving up the bomb that beats us. We simply dont have a closer.

4. Altho he gave up 5 ER's- Ligon pitched fairly well. The early walks hurt but overall was solid. Should have never been sent back out for the 6th. You got a solid 5 out of him so let's move on to Indiana State. But no we cant do that. We have to try and steal outs instead of letting a RP start fresh. Comes back to bite us every weekend.

5. Team BA is around .319 with OBP around .420- slugging .550 All pretty good numbers except we arent putting runs up the way we should. Very anti-clutch. 3 runs on a Sunday rarely cuts it. Didnt score the final 6 innings against an average pen. Just not producing the way they should.

6. Pitchers twice this weekend didnt cover 1st. Has happened earlier this season. That means they arent doing enough PFP's in practice. That's got to be done weekly. Davis remembered and tried to hustle over but Indiana St just stood his ass on the mound the whole time. Obviously they arent being coached enough there.

7. The meltdown of errors yesterday was crazy. Reeves was supposed to be a solid defender but he isnt. 2B is killing us defensively. We knew Reese was going to have to grow into the position. Cupp has played solidly for the most part as has Hines. But 2B is a black hole. Highfill doesnt receive the ball well. Powell is decent at best but couldnt hit my 13 year old at the plate. We play too lackadaisical overall. That's just a bad look. Dont understand that mentality. My good teams that I coached had guys that dove for balls in practice. We may do that as well but we damn sure dont look like it. Cupp not making a good throw to finish the double play Sat was also a big play that hurt

8. The man making out the line-up and deciding who hits for who is not doing a good job:

Who decided Stallman should be the everyday guy? Stevens is hitting better and looks better at the plate. What dumbass decided to run Stallman to give OU an out during that big 4th inning yesterday.
Why PH Stevens against a lefty for Downs???? I mean what the actual ****? Double play killa for us
Why not PH Reeves for Sanders against a Lefty with the bases juiced today? Reeves was tearing the cover off the ball this weekend. Another double play killa
Why are we hitting for Cupp? His OBP was .529 entering today. He gets on base. We needed base runners
Frei has 4 AB's in 6 SEC games

9. The pitching guy aint much better. No Saturday SP and no closer. Grant has thrown 1.1 in 6 SEC games. Black has 1 IP all season. Foster 1.1 in SEC play. Better get it fixed soon

10. Another series loss. 1-5 in the SEC with a trip to Red Stick this Thursday. Not the start we were looking for. Lemon better get things going soon or it will be his last in StarkVegas. Staring 1-8 in the face makes the SC series almost a must sweep- let alone win. Lemon better find Jobu or this is going to be his last. This team should be better than it is. And while he is not making the errors or giving up the 2 Run HR's- ultimately its on him. Everybody agrees with one thing- be good or be gone

I just don’t see this team recovering enough to get where we need to be. Fact is Lemonis coaching history is showing up. It happened at Indiana with him winning with other coaching talent and it has happened at MSU. It does no good to fire him this season, but I’m hoping we are looking for our future Coach soon.

Ain’t no sugar coating watching this team, we have some huge flaws and again it starts at the top.

I wish I was wrong as I love and care about MSU baseball. I doubt I will attend a game this season.

Hail State!!!!

It's called the HC being Lazy and not holding his teams feet to the fire.

It's called the HC being Lazy and not holding his teams feet to the fire.

I think this is more of the issue than anything else. We are more talented right now than we’ve been in a few years.

Good summation. Agree on pretty much all.

On No. 8, Lemonis hasn't figured out the lineup and Parker hasn't figured out staff roles. It's almost April.
Our whole is less than the sum of our parts, which is indicative of a poorly coached team.

And I've looked for an article or release on a contract extension after 2024 seasons, but I can't find one. Anybody got a link? Otherwise, this is the final year of his contract.

Stevens wasn't pinch hitting. He was a defensive sub the inning prior (when OU still had a righty pitching). Also, Downs is hitless so far this season vs SEC pitching.
