Like 2022 for us- other teams are seeing how tough it is when you lose top players to injury.
There is no word yet on whether the 2 Fla pitchers will return this season or not.

Yeah and TAMU after going to NC finals. The year after has been killing SEC teams since 21.
Looks like UT is breaking the jinx.

Really working at some mental gymnastics to try to back up how bad Lemon has neutered our program.

No- just showing that it happens to all SEC teams.
Nobody denies Sully is one of the SEC's best coaches yet he is 0-5 and headed for 0-6 in the SEC to start the season. They have lost their Friday and Sat SP's to injury so far this season. And much like Lemon did in 2022- they are paying the price for it. I'm just pointing out to our low IQ fans that injuries matter- especially now that the SEC is stronger than it's ever been.
A&M lost one of the best payers in the country who was probably a 1st round pick. A&M is now 0-6 in the SEC
Injuries matter and affect your team no matter who the coach is

Sooo, you?re defending our abomination of our ?22 season?
What do the injuries have to do with this years team? We are healthy and losing.
ETA: Losing the same way SINCE the 22 season.

Gary freaking Henderson took us to Omaha with about 8 pitchers hurt.
Cohen had our program in a position where we went to 4 straight Supers with 4 different coaches. Lemonis is on track to miss the Supers for his 4th straight year.

Think O'Sullivan said one of the pitchers will start throwing next week. The other one I think is done. There's just no question that injuries for both teams at least in part account for their slow starts.

Arnett left Lebby with one of the worse teams in my lifetime. As far as wins and losses yes Arnett did have a better record, we shall see how thigs work out for Lebby but Arnett was one of the worse all time HC at Msu. His leadership sucked big time with players and especially assistant coaches.

Agree with your post and I'm from your era too but I think the left the next coach this or that is out the window now with NIL and transfer portal. No one leaves anyone anything but a mess these days.
Coaches like the players are their own brand or better be as this is the only way to win coming in - see coach Prime.

Arnett was better in wins than Lebby but he was lucky he had some veteran leadership returning that year or it would have been worse. Lebby had complete roster turnover. Really not a fair comparison.
I'm not sold on Lebby yet either, we'll see. Still hanging on to hope. Such a different world today.

No doubt. Prime is a good example, regardless of what many think about him good or bad, he does two things really well, leadership and discipline.

Arnett inherited a senior laden team that had just won 9 games and shit the bed. Lebby inherited the aftermath. You're the epitome of dumbassery

Our pitchers were all healthy with Gary. You're thinking of Cann who took us to the Supers and within 5 outs of 1-0 series lead in Alex Box. By the end of the year, 5 positions players had pitched INNINGS. Cole Gordon and Jake Mangum made weekend starts in the SEC and WON. Pilkington was our only starter and he had to be the Friday night guy, even though he wasn't ready for that. The fact that Andy took that team to a super is still probably the most un Mississippi State thing to happen. Him getting caught in a sexting scandal less than 10 months later is very Mississippi State.

Arnett won more games his first year. That's all I need to know about the situation. Two wins is unacceptable. What going on with the Baseball Program has been unacceptable. That coach definitely needs to go. Arnette had the team in place and the coaches in place to have a really good season, but he was bone head and had to make his own changes over night. He should have gradually change from the Air Raid.

You seem to be saying we also lost our top 2 starters in '22. We lost our #1 (Sims) but I cant recall anyone else. A quick glance at the stats doesn't jog my memory either. Who was our 2nd starter to get injured you're referring too? There's a BIG difference between loosing 1 top starter vs 2. About half the SEC loses a starter each year but they overcome it, 2 is a bit of a different story.
For A&M, it's not just that they made the CWS finals and are hungover... they lost their elite HC. Don't you think that has something to do with this season's slow start? You're trying really hard to run cover to Lemo when '22 doesn't invalidate '23, the under performance last year (based on draft picks) or this season.

We lost Simmons also plus some lesser guys
Not running cover for anyone. If Lemon doesnt perform this year he needs to be gone. I've never said differently

I assume all these pitchers we have simply aren't ready? I trust that Parker is putting the most ready guys on the mound.
Arnett isn't in the same stratosphere with Lebby as a coach.

Arnett was just a bump on the log on the sideline once he became head coach.
Would be nice to see Lebby make some noise this year but I'm doing having expectations for football for a while.
His and Arnett's situations coming in couldn't be more different. Not really a comparison.

We all hope Lebby makes some noise this season. We've had a tough time with our teams in recent history. We need something to cheer about.

Arnett was not qualified or ready for the big stage. That has nothing to do with whether he is better or worse than Lebby. I do wonder if the boosters had let him hire his own assistants instead of their friends if he might have done a bit better. On another note, it is wild how bad aTm has been in baseball this year. I know they lost their coach, but they were preseason #1 and now they are last in the SEC. Their new coach might be gone after this year, and i have no idea how he took them off a cliff so fast.
