Wes Johnson is seems like he's got the head coach thing down. His teams are good and he recruits like a boss. Plus he has the Paul Skenes glow with elite pitching prospects.
Small sample size, but Rob Vaughn is making a program in Tuscaloosa. Sully got trucked by Vitello. Vaughn beat Vitello on Friday and Vitello needed a big 8th inning to win game two.

Vaughn was winning before he got to Tuscaloosa, so he already has a larger sample size.

And neither coach would leave where they are to come to State.

Bama just made a better hire from a northern or mid-western school than we did though. That is for certain.
It is a fact Lemonis got lazy after the inherited National Title team, and recruiting slacked off while guys like this were recruiting and evaluating better.
There are coaches out there , hungry for this job, and can navigate in this new world.

this narrative cracks me up. "inherited a national title team" at a school that never had a natty before and it wasn't season 1 he won. it was season 3.
also bama making a better hire? what natty in baseball does he have again? argument ends if your phone doesn't RING.

Crack up all you want.
You know what I meant - that he did not recruit it and build it.
His skill set is maybe better at running a team with built in alphas on it where his hands off approach works. It worked that season, but dang man the year before the team went to the CWS basically without a coach, on their own.
So yes, he inherited a team that took themselves to the CWS the year before.
Since then and it is going on 4 years, he has not had success.
Hilarious, right?

"Howland is a pipe dream."
"We're not hiring the fuсking pirate."
"We probably won't fire Arnett, but if we do, it won't be until the season is over."

"Book is Out" what does that mean Confucius?
Is there not a Book on everyone. Probably a book on Vitello too, "if you play him, tell the bus driver to be gassed and ready for a 7 inning game."

Because he didn't recruit Tanner Allen or Rowdey Jordan?
Scotty Dubrule, Kamren James, Kellum Clark, Logan Tanner, Landon Sims, Will Bendar, Jackson Fristoe, Tanner Leggett, Parker Stinnett, Stone Simmons, Luke Hancock, Christian MacLeod, Preston Johnson, Brayland Skinner, Lane Forsythe and Houston Harding all had such great stats under the regime before Lemonis at Mississippi State. They all combined to never give up a run AND never get out at the plate until Lemonis "inherited" them and showed them how to be something less than perfect.

"Howland is a pipe dream."- missed that one for sure
"We're not hiring the fuсking pirate."- didnt think we would be that stupid and look what it did to the program?????
"We probably won't fire Arnett, but if we do, it won't be until the season is over."- meh. It was what- 2 games???
Let's also add some of my other ones:
We're not hiring Raffo
Firing Mullen would be stupid. He has a great young team that should be really good in 2014
The 2017 Egg Bowl is Dan Mullen's last game at State
Cohen is not going to hire a big name coach in baseball away from a major program
Yes, we can fire a HC that has been to 2 bowls and beaten Mississippi twice
Look for Arnett to take over as HC
Oh and the one you guys got super mad about- word is The Pirates is sick”

You also said this in 2014, 2015, and 2016 so you get no credit for it. Eventually you were bound to be right.

Vaughn would absolutely come to state. Johnson chases money. I wouldn’t expect him to leave uga but if the money was more than uga would pay he might would come. We are watching right now the most poorly coached state baseball team I’ve seen in my 40 plus years of watching Mississippi state baseball.
