I mean what do you want them to do? Fire every coach? Not really feasible financially.

Football was embarrassing for sure.
Basketball was frustrating, but hardly embarrassing.
Baseball yet to be seen.

Football - if they go 4-8 again (likely) we have to make a change.
Basketball - Jans is not great but no, they can't get rid of him. He needs to make major changes on his staff though becasue we don't develop anyone at all (and we can worse as the season plays out).
Baseball - I don't really care that much. I guess fire Lemonis and just go hire someone cheaper to save a buck or two. Use that for better football and basketball coaches.

I have no idea how we won 21 games in basketball. We never regained confidence after the Kentucky and Bama losses.

No way we fire Lebby for 4-8.

Our football program is in really bad shape, so any improvement in the record will be considered a victory.

Why? What have they done to deserve getting fired? First off, you don't hire and fire President's based on athletics. Secondly, what has Selmon done to justify getting fired?

Now we let the emotion pass, then sit down and evaluate the season overall. No doubt however the shortcomings are part talent and part coaching. Have we hit a ceiling? It's certainly a legit question to discuss. The upside is it's not likely anyone will come knocking with a better job. The downside could be no one will come knocking with a better job.

It's certainly a legit question. I'm willing to give them a slight pass saying that we sacrificed too much defense for offense. We also got screwed on the Ven-Allen Lubin deal. We were the ones who convinced him to get in the portal and then he spurns us to go to North Carolina. We were scrambling for a center after that.

You know the reason. He isn?t from Mississippi, isn?t apart of the ?crowd? that likes to be buddy buddy, and is actually trying to improve things.

The fact is you have a mostly 5 STAR team (Baylor) playing a mostly 3-4 STARteam (MSU) in terms of their evaluations from high school recruiting sites.
That is the main reason we lost the game today. 5>4
Talent discrepancy is negated via $$, and MSU will never have the number$ schools in Texas do.
Basketball is the easiest sport to get a +ROI.
Houston is the team to watch in this tourney.

Yeah this. While it's nice to have our basketball team winning and going to the tournament consistently again, we folded like a cheap suit the last 6 weeks. It looks like Jans has become our Dan ********. Having good but not great seasons and fading at the end of most seasons(insert your favorite reason here, lol). Jans will likely win 20 games every year and get us in the tournament most years, but doubt we'll ever see huge success with him, but at least we are capable of beating any team we play and also losing to any team we play.

It's definitely part of it, but to watch teams that were succesful early fade late in the season, and no adjustments being made in the way we play by the coaches or not having them ready to play falls squarely on the HC's shoulders.
ETA: Also Danny boy had unlimited resources at UF and outside of one season had the same success rate he had here, so there's that.

Can?t disagree with your post. We did fold second half of the season. Just got to get better players, especially scores, defense now days is secondary. It?s making 3?s.

100% agree, Base, we need more shooters. That's what killed us most of the year, not being able to hit 3's consistently while opposing teams filled it up.

I think spurrier and urban (2 top ten coaches of all time) made us think Florida is more a power than they are. With that said, Mullen should've done better. Florida and state have taken a step back after Mullen left though

Didn't he go to 3 NY6 bowls in his first 3 years with an SECG appearance as well? Heck they literally fired him less than a year removed from an SECG appearance. We'd have built him a statue at the 50 for those results.

And it is very simple why they have? They do not give one shit about anything but winning. They could less give a crap about the moral high ground or gold at the morality Olympics.
They also are all rowing in the same direction in regards to NIL. They all donate instead of gripe and complain about giving

We might as well let him be. If we replaced him it would just be with another coordinator that AGAIN would have to learn to be a HC. We are better off just letting Lebby learn on the job given he's already a year into it.

Well, I can tell you this NIL thing does a LOT more for them than it does us. OM has always been much better at buying players than we have and have a lot more boosters that are willing to do so than we do.

Yeah. Because Stricklin railroaded McElwain to get Chip Kelly and then ended up with Dan. Dan with Dan's players was pretty much the same as MSU.
