Not trying to say fire Lemonis.
I like college baseball, and it is a better when historically good teams like Rice are good also.
They hired David Pierce, who used to be at TX, and a long time assistant at Rice.
I was hoping Cruz Jr would get it going at Rice though, since he played there as well.

I know I started a thread saying we should get rid of lemonis; but after calming down, it should be after the season if it happens. Hopefully lemonis and the team get going in the right direction this weekend.

Still a lot of baseball left. We are about 3 clutch hits away from having a different record. Hopefully guys start getting it going. We need to get to a Super or it feels like our program is going backwards.
We had a run of Super and Omaha for about 4-5 years with all that turmoil in the program. Now Lemonis doesn't have all that distraction so you hope we can get back to that consistency.

Rice is NOT a historically good baseball program. They were good under one GREAT coach, Wayne Graham.
Before he arrived, Rice had NEVER made the NCAA tournament. Since his retirement, Rice has NEVER made the NCAA tournament.
Compare that to Mississippi State (truly a historical great program). We've been to the CWS in 6 consecutive decades (only Texas has a longer streak). In those 12 trips in 6 different decades, SIX different coaches have led us to the CWS (Only Florida State has as many coaches do the same).

When you have random social media accounts (im talking sports reporter accounts) talking about how this is not Mississippi State baseball, a change needs to be made...

Thanks for the education my friend. I have been in TX since the 90's.
"Historically" may be the argument here, but good grief man chill. Rice is a good program and in TX had clout for recruits. That is my frame of reference. Hearing recruits in TX speak highly of Rice. They certainly were not talking MSU like we think everyone does.
