Beard still at Ole Dixie.

Well, Beard was arrested by police for domestic battery including finding choke marks and bruises on her, so I'm not surprised Indiana went elsewhere...nor am i surprised OM is the only school that would sink low enough to hire his ass...

And the guy Indiana hired was the one Iowa wanted. Buckle up

Why would he leave OM for Indiana? This isn't the 90s. The SEC is the king of the hill now and likely will be for some time. There's talk of Rick Barnes retiring, would they take Beard's baggage? I'll take Will Wade's baggage in a second.

You're probably asking, why a coach will stay in Oxford and not in Starkville? They are on the same page and all pulling in the same direction. They love their town, campus, athletes, coaches, programs, etc., and makes sure everyone knows it. Half our "vocal" fanbase hates everything about MSU and expects, it often seems like wants, us to fail. It's the damnedest thing, I don't understand it.

Beard was never even a candidate at Indiana. It?s only the crowd that said Kiffin was taking every other job when Auburn in reality was the only one with mutual interest. Beard would probably leave for UK, UNC, Kansas, Duke or UConn that?s about it

This is a little overboard... beard would leave for several sec programs.

He wins. That's all that matters. They recognize that people stop mentioning all the off the court stuff when you win.

I think we may have seen Iowa's next coach beat Mizzou last night. Ben McCollum may be one of the best 3-4 coaches in the tournament.

I think Indiana this year had one of the higher NIL rosters.
They will put money to basketball

Nah, there are very few programs that would hire Beard given his history. Auburn would, but they have a coach.

Agree, we do way too much pearl clutching. Thank goodness for Zacharias or we would have never gotten Sherrill and our entire football history over the last 35 years would be completely different and not in a good way.

Ole Miss wouldn't have Kiffin or Beard if they both weren't a little tainted.

Correct. Sometimes you have to take chances. I mean Templeton wanted us to hire Bobby Wallace when we hired Jackie for god's sake. We're way too worried about some make believe moral high ground.

Iowa should throw the checkbook to him and let him fill in the amount.

I'm at the point where if they throw the checkbook at Jans we need to throw it at McCollum.

Didn’t they end up going to the final 4 like last year?

Was a fluke run for their coach. He was gonna be fired last year until DJ Burns went on that insane run in their conference tournament and then the NCAAT.
