Today our Skycam system fulfilled the mission we set out for it to do. It detected a tornado that had not been warned and was the reason a warning was issued for the storm. This was from our Amory cam. Our Greenwood camera also captured the tornado that hit Grenada last night. Made all the hard work to make this a reality worth it. Vindication from all the doors slammed in my face. Fighting for all of the donations and sponsorships. Now we're more determined than ever to take this statewide.

N8Synder carried that Amory vid. What happened to your Grenada Cam last night? Hey see if DD has any tall structures on his Prentiss county property. Since Naders always hit his propetry.

The tornado that hit there last night knocked out the power and internet to the site. They're back on now.

So when I've come on here and asked for donations or business sponsorships for this project, this is the main reason why. Yesterday showed beyond a shadow of a doubt these cameras can provide information needed to save lives. Our goal is to take this statewide and we won't rest until we do.

well since msu won't help with a grant maybe you can try the usm weather school for the pine belt. South of the burg you just don't get many naders.

So does someone watch these or is there an algorithm that alerts you?
Have you tried discussing with msu for assistance/ teaming up rather than just a donation. With their meteorology school, you'd think they'd want to be involved. That said it's always easier just doing the same thing than to try starting something new. To an extent, I understand though, having to do anything with curriculum probably has many steps to change. I just would hope they'd want to do something like this to help with recruiting. I'm sure some of the Oklahoma schools have something to use as a guide.
It could be something simple as monitoring the camera, with your/ someones oversight of course, during storms

These are all monitored by us with assistance by the people at Hazcams. They are the ones that developed the software that runs the cameras and delivers the stream to the web.
I contacted MSU back after we just had a few cameras up and never got a response back. I thought it would be a great partnership, too.
