We will not do this, but shoold
Play defense
Go to rim
Shoot mid range
Analytics re irrelevant if you shoot 20% from three.

I actually like our offensive style now. We just need better shooters. We've been really good offensively with some awful shooters.

This is the game plan for who we are. We just can't seem to help ourselves in game at times. The force is strong from the perimeter line. ******

Yea we're getting open shots, just can't get them to fall. Hell Melendez had three or four 3 pointers rim out last night. Like halfway down and came out. I had no problem with our shot selection last night, we just couldn't get a stop down the stretch. Our last stop in the ballgame was a steal with 6:16 to go. They got points on every possession after that.

Biggest issue to me is this team really has nothing to hang its hat on these days. Really doesn't do anything at a high level. I mean what do we do well? Shoot 3s? no. Defend 3s? no. Defend in general? no. Offense in general? no. Shoot free throws? no. Bottom line is we just don't have the offensive weapons to make up for our lack of defense or vice versa. We essentially have 2 guys that usually can be depended on to score, Hubbard and Murphy. Behind them, all other players could go scoreless on any given night and it would be no surprise. Next year, we have to get significantly better either offensively or defensively to improve our stock in the SEC because right now when we play the SEC upper tier we aren't that good on either side of the ball. Missouri had been in a tailspin and we couldn't do much with them at all to slow them down last night while we only shot around 35% for the game ourselves. Just a good thing we played so well early in the season.

We have to accept who we are. We have an entire season of evidence that we can't shoot the three. Think someone said we're 300+ in the rankings and just over 30%? We have to abandon this notion that we just need to keep shooting the three. Play defense and shoot from inside the perimeter. That is our best ticket to some tourney wins.

This 100%. Maybe we can beat someone in Round One of the NCAA who is not an SEC team. We certainly can't beat any SEC teams except LSU since the aTm win.

Can't shoot the 3 and not very good at shooting free throws. It's like saying we can't run the ball or pass but somehow we still score points. It's a strange team for sure.

That's a recipe for getting beat. You have to shoot outside these days. I mean let's take last night's game. We were 24/66 from the field and 6/30 from 3. Take away 15 of those 3s and make them 2s. We might make 6 more shots, but probably takes away three 3 pointers (all non Hubbard 3s). That would make us 30/66 and 3/15. We still lose. The fact of the matter is that we have to just hit the 3s. Hell the ability is there. We hit 15 the night before. We just need 8-10 a game. If Hubbard can give you 3-5, then you just need to find 5 more somewhere else. Ideally that is 2 from Melendez, 2 from Harris/Kugel or a combo of them, and 1 from Jones or an extra from the previously mentioned.

Hubbard has now taken 485 of our shots. The next closest player is Murphy with 288. Can't tell me other pretty good college players would want to play in this ofense, along with him being a big liability on defense. Lat season he took 34% of our shots. The team looks about the same this year as last. Harris also makes threes at a very small % than Hubbard, but seems to have become Shak Moore and not shoot. (I told his Dad at a recent game that he needed to shoot more and he smiled and said yes.). Melendez is at best a 25% three pt shooter but he fired away last night. I don't know how much NIL we gave our #6 portal class of Harris , Kugul, and Melendez but they were 1 for 13 on threes last night. Hubbard was 3 for 11 on his volume shooting from three, again. It is what it is all season long.

You shoot outside IF you can shoot outside. We cannot. Or we can occasionally so we'll win a game that way occasionally. We don't want that. Have to find consistency in our game and ATTEMPTING threes is not it for us.

The shot selection in the last 2 minutes of the game last night was terrible. We panicked for no reason.
