They will career it. Their big Croatian will turn into Toni Kucoc. Wagner will turn into his dad and Davis will turn into the player he was for FAU when they made the Final 4. We also have only beaten Cal once so I doubt Saturday makes it twice.

I'm certainly not predicting a win. I'll be happy with 2 more wins - one in Nashville and in the real tourney.

I am just asking for one NCAAT win. I would prefer to keep the next game competitive. But just get me one win.

I think Jans is at a complete loss right now as to how to motivate and coach this team. He is a great coach, and I am glad he is our guy. I just think this squad has him and the coaches perplexed. Go watch some of the early season highlights and watch them now. Two completely different teams.

It's two completely different tiers of competition once we hit SEC play. Although Pitt looked impressive at the time they're currently sitting at 16-13. Memphis is the only quality win OOC. We were lulled into thinking we were better than we were. Hubbard is one of the most inconsistent "stars" I've seen. Outside of FTs, he's a sub 40% FG shooter that at times can't hit the broadside of a barn. We just need some positive consistency somewhere.

Nobody could guard him in high school. And now, when he does score lots of points it is usually from Volume shooting. Seems like he had his best "shooting" game in SEC play last Saturday. I just don't like that we are so dependent on a 5' 10" point guard for a 1/3 of our scoring. I do believe with Harris, Cam, Murphy, Hubbard and add Tolu to those 4 this would have been a better team. Unfortunately Tolu completed his eligibility a year too early. A Roberts or a Rhodes type post player was needed this year and we didn't bring one in.

Exactly. Jans has to figure this portal stuff out because he is struggling mightily at it. He has to win some battles on difference makers, not role players with flaws. Shooters, shooters, PG and big man. Those are our needs

I've tried and tried to tell some of you guys not to get emotionally invested in this program. We are what we are and that's a bottom third of the league program that will have trouble ever moving up to a higher tier for an extended period of time. You don't have to like it, hell I don't like it, but it is the truth.

I mean I've said since mid-January I just want 1 ncaa win. I saw quickly that we aren't on par with the top of this conference

No problem this year because that is top 5 in nation by a lot. We could be SECW champs and top 1/3 of SEC in every other year not now.

100% agree. The team that I saw up close, in person against Utah and Memphis is just a shell of itself now. I feel like those games was some other distant season, not this season.

He's alluding that Jans is going to Iowa, he's not, and Beard is going to Indiana, they would have to miss on 4 candidates for that to happen.
I'll go ahead and fill both of those jobs for you:
Iowa IF McCaffrey steps down:
1. Darian Devries
2. Ben McCollum, it won't get past McCollum
3. Chris Collins
Indiana
1. Because they have to make the call, Scott Drew
2. Mick Cronin
3. TJ Otzelberger
4. Because they have kind of turned it on again, Wes Miller
If Iowa St was to come open because of Otzelberger
1. Ben McCollum
Jans will probably eventually leave, too good of a coach. But it won't be til at least next year after Hubbard has left. That was the deal.

If that's true, we are back in the Mullen dilemma. One foot in, one foot out, but do we force his hand or not? If so, they better have a stud lined up ready to come in.

You DO NOT force his hand. And we won't. He and Zac have a great relationship. Zac actually has some really good basketball connections due to his time at UNC.
And look, the other hope is that Chris thinks he can do to us what Pearl did at Auburn and he stays and builds a monster.

He is already our Mullen of basketball as he usually beats who he is supposed to, seldom beats a big team and loses in a head scratcher or two each season.**

I must correct you as I don't think you make many home games and if so, don't listen to the pre-game introductions as Hubbard is announced as 5'11", ( Note: This depends on whether his hair is braided or in an Afro!).*** Seriously, he is a real liability on "D" as he always tries to guard a taller player and if a switch is made it is really a mismatch. BTW, last night two of their "guards" combined for 46 points. I often wonder if his volume shooting to get his, win or lose, causes some locker room issues. He has shot more than 100 times more than anyone else on the team. BTW, I have been to every home game and thanks to a friend friend, sit on row 4 looking straight at one of the goals and can watch the game up close. Jans "D" drives me nuts all year in doubling the post and leaving an open three. We are about 315 in the nation in "defending" the three. Also, Jans substitution patterns sometimes leaves us playing 2 on 5 or 3 on 5 at best when on offense. Last night, early in the game, he put in 3 subs when when we were up 5 and we quickly went down 5. This has happened many times this season.

Very true but I think Jans might need to adjust his coaching style a tad to be a little more player friendly. Looks like he has worn Melendez and Harris down to nothing. I am so confused on Melendez, he was an absolute DAWG the first half of the year

Connected here and there. I know the Jans stuff well because I know Oscar pretty well. He and Oscar are big buddies. Actually one of the few people outside the administration that Jans talks to
