I?d like to see Pico-Davis-McPherson. It won?t be Pruitt cause he bout to start Tuesday. If you want to switch McPherson and Davis to keep them on 7 days rest, you could, but I?d rather have the freshman on Sunday. Pruitt can move to wkend if he gives us 4 quality innings on Tuesday.
The starting the older guys experiment should be over. Trotting schooner and fortenberry out there against anyone but swac should be over.
We also mis managed our staff this weekend by spreading 4 quality bullpen arms that were cruising over 6 innings. Would have been nice to have one of them today.
Williams and Burns need to start being groomed to close games.

Eventually I like Kohn-Pruitt-Foster
Then weekend bullpen arms: McPherson, Burns, Grant, Davis, Williams, Hungate. That's 9 quality arms and should be enough. Stone out of the BP too in certain spots.

To me it would be a mistake to start Indiana St in midweek. He needs to start Saturday. I really like Mac or Burns to start Sunday. We were waiting on these 2 guys to prove they belonged- but yesterday and today showed they dont.

The young arms have to get more innings fast. That?s where the talent of the staff is. They have to be brought on asap, we need those guys to continue to develop quickly.

We need a win over a good team badly. We can't continue to **** around trying to figure who can do what when it's obvious that we know who can do what.

I think by the end of the year it could be Kohn, McPherson, and Foster or Grant.

Biloxi will be a good opportunity for that. Hopefully we don't screw it up.

I think the coaching sees that Ligon and Simmons are struggling as starters. I bet both would be more than fine SEC middle relievers.
Pruitt can slot in as Saturday, next man up.
For Sunday, got to find a guy. It's not unusual for that to happen in college baseball. Even on good teams. In 2021, ten different dudes started a game, 5 in the SEC. The causal peak at SEC finds that 9 to 12 is not unusual. National champ LSU in 2023 had to try 3 different Sunday guys. Thatcher Hurd sucked all season that saved his gem for Florida in Omaha. LSU just has the best luck. Tennessee 2024 had 5 different SEC starters.

Oh I agree. We all kind of knew this was going to happen- it just had to play out. But now it's time to make the move.

1000% disagree. Anyone with a baseball brain knew Ligon did not have the testicular fortitude or control to be a starter. This was evident from the first start of the spring scrimmages. I understand trying to let Simmons figure it out, but he hasn't had control since day 1.
This is a sign of bad coaching. Ultimately it falls at the hands of Lemonis.
If you know a move needs to be made and don't do it, it wreaks of incompetence.

well, if you have ever played on a team you would know that some moves have to be made with some nuance. Team chemistry is important. Seniority matters. So you cant just make certain moves willy nilly. Sometimes they have to play out so team members see them happen

100%. And as you said above, its time to go.

You're killing team chemistry by allowing a certain individual multiple starts, when he hasn't sniffed the 5th inning yet. Not to mention taking L's that should've been wins. I played and coached baseball a long time. I never sacrificed wins for chemistry. Winning> then hurt feelings.
When we aren't hosting in June, you can thank Lemonis for boneheaded decisions like this.

Ligon had a 1.29 ERA entering Saturday. But thank you for your overreaction.

I'd let Pruitt pitch against USM tomorrow and then move him to the weekends for SEC play.
We need this game tomorrow and we can beat Queens with Ligon.

Era is a dinosaur stat.

Unfortunately you're correct. We need the midweek for RPI purposes and Queens gives up an average of about 10 runs a game so it'll look like Manhattan weekend all over again.

Correct. Our last 3 losses are because our coaching staff refuses to pitch our best pitchers. Throw schooner and Ligon against valley
