Put Ligon and Simmons both on the bench and find some starters that can throw a strike! Simmons opens the 3rd with back to back walks. Geez.

Teams shove that shift in a players face and basically say you got nothing meat. As a player I would work tirelessly to be able to beat that 17er. Just hard to understand a player continuing to weakly play right into it. They become a eunuch.

It can with predicting whether this team will be great down the road. Our great teams have won these games more times than lost in the past. Not saying this team will be bad this year, but only being able to beat the teams with losing record doesn't bode well for our success

Coursesuper
03-02-2025, 06:04 PM
It is hard to beat a team when you run a lineup out there that only has 23 earned outs and 4 free ones in it.

maroonmania
03-02-2025, 06:09 PM
This is the first loss of the year that is totally on Parker. And we hit well only after this game was pretty much out of reach. Seems we start off EVERY game slow in scoring. Every decent team we've played so far it's 3-0, 5-0, 5-1 or this one 9-2 before we get anything figured out at the plate. You aren't going to dig out of those kind of deficits very often against good teams.

It's a valid point Course but we did score runs. And scored them very efficiently. Given that and to your point, one or two more hits very well could have made the difference.

We have to actually settle in some roles and we have to rework our rotation. It's almost like we have too many guys and we can't get them all work.

Trimming the roster down probably will help with that some to be honest with you.

Well, we've heard all this about Parker saying "if you don't throw strikes you don't pitch". We are about to find out. Ligon and Simmoms are killing us with their wildness. The big inning for OSU today was greatly aided by walks and wild pitches.

Need two opener type guys. Or communicate the pitching strategy to the staff that we are merely opening the game. Give me 6 outs, no need to Marshall pitches for future ABs. On Saturday and Sunday everyone is long relief. Even with McPherson, you saw Arizona start to time him on the 2nd cycle.

We might get lucky and find a Houston Harding this year. But right now, winning consistently on Saturday and Sunday will be knife fight.
