No drop, so good day.

This week, we have a chance to finish strong. Texas seems to be falling apart; but they really need a win, so I expect their best shot. Ark had a horrible loss yesterday, but they aren't out of it. If lose at vandy Tuesday, they may quit.

If we can somehow get to 10-8, we have a legit shot at finishing 6th in the sec. aTm probably goes 10-8 (loss to Auburn, win vs lsu). I don't see OM winning another one (Tenn and at Florida). Kentucky has to go to mizzou, so they probably finish with 9 wins. Vandy could get to 10 (ark and at Georgia). If we have a tie with vandy, aTm, or both, we win tie breaker with head-to-head wins. Finishing 6th this season is no small deal; this is the best the sec has ever been.

I definitely don't want to trade places with Ole Miss but playing teams with their season on the line isn't easy. I hope we play well early against Texas so they lose hope. Also wouldn't bother me to see Arkansas lose to Vandy but even then they still may have NCAA hope.

It's March. You got to play well to beat everyone. It could do us some good playing teams with their backs against the wall because it will prepare us for 2 weeks from now when everyone's back is against the wall.

I could also make the argument that a couple of easier games may do us some good after such a grueling conference schedule. I think the SEC being so tough is going to work against the conference when they have to start playing games with less rest.
Doesn't really matter what I think. I just want to win the last two and get the best seed possible for the SEC and NCAA tournament.

I think the conference being so tough is helpful except to those teams that go deep in the SEC tourney. They're at least used to consistently playing two grueling games in a week, so it will be less of a challenge for them to play two tough games in three days.

For those teams that go deep in the SEC tourney, they might have to worry about having dead legs. If a top 4 seed makes the finals, they will play 3 games in 3 days, and then potentially have to play again in 4 days. That might actually not leave enough time to recover, but at least the top 4 teams should have something of a cup cake first game in the NCAAs. If a team from outside the top 4 makes the finals, they will play 4 games in 4 days and then potentially have to play again in 4 days. I think at that point you really start to worry about dead legs in that first weekend, and teams outside the top 4 won't get a cupcake in the first round. Not saying I don't want us to win the tourney, but I'd certainly rather lose in the semifinals than lose in the finals. That'd at least guarantee a four day break if not five days, which I think is probably enough to recover from playing 3 games in 3 days.

That's why I want us to win one and then get knocked out. That gives us MINIMUM 6 days of recovery time and MAX 7 days.

I agree. And we need to avoid the first day of the SEC tournament because a win there would be meaningless. Need to win at least one of the last two for that to happen. Of course, if we can't win one of the last two we don't deserve a single digit seed in either tourney.
