Dellquan Warren seems like a great kid, but man is he not allowed to shoot? He clearly has ball handling skills but Jans needs to be able to give him some kind of confidence.

Thank god for Shawn Jones Jr. He never blows you away, but when we go through a stretch of horrid play, he's the only one that can really get dirty and make chicken salad out of chicken shit.

We just have no shooting confidence as a team. You can see it in almost every shot. Truthfully this has been a problem since Stands left. Ravern Johnson ain't walking through that door.

3 NCAAT bids in a row at State is awesome. As much as we like to bitch and pile on, we are doing more good than bad. Let's hope we get a favorable match up.

The hope I am holding onto is how we have played on courts this year other than our own. Hoping the big lights of NCAAT will snap our guys, specifically Melendez, Kugel and Harris out of their daze. Thinking Jans style of coaching can wear you down as year goes on and they are only ones not use to it. Melendez is unrecognizable from start of year, he looks drained.

We have zero home court advantage. The Hump atmosphere sucks.

I feel like Jans is chewing ass 95 percent of the time. I always played better under coaches who used positive reinforcement. Maybe I am a just a pus-sy but getting yelled at about everything and the coach finding something wrong in everything you do wears on confidence and makes you play timid. Just my two cents.

Hubbard scored 30 points today and only made two 3s. He's been pulling up on drives and it is helping him. That's going to be big for us in the Tourney.

We have a lot of players that don't look like the same players as early in year.

Melendez, Kugel, etc. Even Cam diappears and plays less confident now. Not sure what is up.

Jones is similar to Cam. He does a lot of things that don't always show up in box score. Harris does too.

Coaching hard or positive has to be both and different players need different things. It is called situational leadership. If a coach can't figure this out on his players, a team will never achieve all they can be. Players will shut down with the wrong approach. I saw this in high school front and center. We had a hard coach - good for some players and really bad for others. I watched it happen during the game, players shut it down after butt chewing. Don't know if that is the issue or not but it is a thing.

Hubbard is playing a lot smarter now. He keeps that up, it opens up things for others.

Warren just scares me when he has the ball. He plays like a freshmen, wide eyed. But I can remember a lot of freshmen that looked like that. Cam Carter did as well, he turned out nicely.

As a player I could take it both ways, but I remember some guys who'd shell up and be done if a coach started chewing on them. If a coach got in my arse I'd say "frick you dude I'll show you".If he got in my best friends arse he'd pretty much be done and shut it down, so I always got yelled at even when others fricked up. Most coaches know who they can chew on and those they can't. Some coaches don't give two shits and chew on any and everyone. I guess this is Jans?

Exactly! When I played basketball coached always chewed on me and another teammate. He seldom chewed on the stars of our team. But I always tried to do exactly what the coach wanted. Some of the time I wasn’t just physically able to do what coach wanted. I played 4spot mostly. Here is a example:

We had this guy on the team that could elevate like Hubbard when he shot but was much taller. In practice my job was to guard this guy. When ever he came to top of key or elbow he would elevate and shoot. Coach would be screaming at me to guard him. This guy would elevate way higher than I was able to jump. About third or fourth practice I called timeout, turned to coach and explained that he was elevating a lot higher for his shot than I could jump but I would punch him in the nuts or pull his shorts down or whatever. Coach was not amused. Yes I ran gassers after practice.

I mentioned this before. Jans is tough! Almost too tough, you can see him on the sidelines yelling at his players. Alot of people won't agree with me but thats not always the best way to lead. Everyone doesn't respond well to that, it can shut players down.... I know some will say tough coaching is best, but is it really? Coach K and Roy Williams didn't coach that way and did well

Jans really gnawed on Kugel's ass during an early timeout and I didn't think Kugel was taking it well but to Kugel's credit he responded and played well the rest of the game. Jans seemed a little extra agitated Saturday. Maybe it was because of the ass whipping from Bama.

Last time I looked we were about 315 of 335 or so in "defending" the three. bama alone had 22 made threes. Is this stubborn or bad coaching or a lack of defensive effort by the players or some of both. Has cost us a few games against the better teams.

Some of the decisions our players make would make the Dalai Lama angry.

Every wonder why Cam seems to always make his first free throw and miss his 2nd? Dang he has to be shooting 50% on the season about now.
