State up 1-0 in the 3rd. Ligon struggling to throw strikes. He is going to get shelled if he?s still a weekend guy come sec play.

Yeah tied up now because of Ligon being wild at the plate. Looks like it's going to be another day of shitty hitting

Ligon won't be in the rotation by SEC play.

He can't locate and his fastball is flat and gets hit when he does locate it. And he's been this way for several seasons now.

Need someone else to step up.

I mean what are the odds they have two Nolan Ryans on their team. I mean we can't be that unlucky right? I swear this does not give me the warm and fuzzies for this season

Our offense just sucks to start the year as usual. Sam Houston scored plenty of runs on these same pitchers last weekend.

Good hit by Reese to get the triple. Probably would be caught in SEC play, but about damn time the bats came to life.

I'd look at McPherson for a rotation spot.

He's got a repeatable, mechanically sound delivery, throws a mid 90s fastball with movement for strikes, and that changeup he just backwards K'd the lefty on looked sick.

I get he's a freshman and will have growing pains, but I think he gives you more than Ligon.

He?ll continue to play because he was of the highest earning NIL guys on the roster just like the other Madison Central kid, Hines.

We just need the Justin Parker version of a hitting coach and we should be good to go. Let Lemonis CEO the program, game manage, recruit.

As I have been scolded that there is only negativity with sports at MSU well today was much better. Good hitting and pitching.

Other than the walks I thought we played pretty well today. Some guys like Ace Reese did some things that will hopefully get them going at the plate.

We pretty much have to get Gavin Black in the game tomorrow. I really like the young arms we have like McPherson, Grant, Williams, and Burns.

Williams is ready to be one of our closers. Grant not yet. Both these guys in 95-98 range but Williams has control.

I watched both of these guys in bullpen as well as mound. I thought Grant was going to hurt someone in the stands on some throws in bullpen, just wild. Threw a lot of balls on mound. Grant has a lot of potential to be really good if he can get control.

Grant is still rehabbing essentially. We'll see how he progresses the rest of the year. I think we will really see more of his full potential the second half of the SEC season.
