I wouldn?t schedule any games with any other Mississippi teams except Ole Dixie. We don?t need them as much as they need us. Maybe I?m wrong but Ole Dixie very seldom plays as many teams in Mississippi as we do.
But I would never play any except in Starkville. Just saying.

Fact of the matter is we can't talk about how awesome we are in baseball and then be scared to play USM. Polk 2 and Gary Henderson have as many CWS appearances as they do.

Well if we're playing USM in a regional we're likely not pitching a freshman against one of their All American starters. We're also going to be much much more developed as a team by the postseason if we're in that spot too.

Mississippi has been to the CWS 2 times in the last 50 years. The Nasty Bunch are a yearly NCAA Tourney team now for the most part in baseball. They even hosted a Super just 2 years ago. They aint South Alabama

If you care nothing about USM it wouldn't matter to you if we played them in any sport or not.

If I'm not mistaken they beat Ole Miss and Alabama last year in Hattiesburg in baseball by the way.

My point was you can't compare a midweek game in February to a regional game. We would likely start Pico or Stone who can go much deeper in games which would allow us to save our bullpen for later in the game as needed

I'd schedule them even more. I'd like to play a weekend series against them every year plus a midweek game against them in Pearl. And we do have a lot to gain. We win the series, it's likely going to be a very quality non-conference series win. I think it's fun to play them. It sucks to lose no matter who it's to.

Yeah it was a factor but we both had 4 hits. Our pitching overall was pretty good. 4 errors lost the game for us.

If that's a regional, our starter goes 6 and then you bridge it to your closer. They might have had 2 hits. Heck they only had 4 in a bullpen game.
